As I see it Feb 10

DePaul plays great for 30 minutes and abysmal for 10. Seton Hall plays terrible for 30 minutes and good fir 10 minutes. So, they end up pretty close..

It could be 4 game win streak or 4 game lose streak. Since we don't know who is actually healthy enough to play these days we might be lucky to even have 5 healthy kids to to get on the court.

1. SJU 197-3 10-1
Still # 1 but the schedule will soon ramp up

2. Marquette 18-4 9-2
Not a good look home to UConn

7 Ws in a row has them slightly ahead of UConn

Poor outing at home against DePaul. Great one against Marquette

5. Xavier 13-9 5-6
Best of the rest

Flip a coin with the rest of the 5-6 teams

Agree with the above. And I'd say it closely aligns with what I'd say are the Player Salary Tiers.

Visible leaders - Keep their best players and attract the best
UConn
St. John's

The Haves - Keep their best players and attract BE talent
Creighton
Marquette
Xavier
Villanova
Georgetown
Providence

The Have Nots - Not enough to compete in the BE but puncher's chance
Butler
DePaul

Don't Have Enough and Have Not been good at spending what they have
Seton Hall

I put Creighton and Marquette right up there with Uconn and SJU.

Both Creighton and Marquette keep their best players and can/do attract BE talented players (Marquette has it seems deliberately chosen to stay away from the portal).

When it comes to keeping their best and attracting BE talent, even top tier talent, I think Nova, Xavier and Gtown are right there too. Look at Nova's past 2 offseasons. Or Gtown.

Even Providence hasn't lost anyone it seems they want from the portal. Cooley wasn't able to lure Hopkins, as an example. Nor other schools, even though Kim English had that Twitter rant over the summer where he was suggesting that other teams were openly trying to steal Hopkins from him (I thought it was Gtown, but other internet sleuths were speculating it was Depaul/Holtman).

Yeah Creighton & Marquette are right there - could put them in Tier 1. I'd say all 8 teams in the first 2 tiers have the money to compete at the top of the conference and at least an NCAA bid. Then it becomes, who uses it best, who can spend extra when they need to and which coaches develop and get the most of their teams.

Then there are the 3 bottom teams who don't have the tools to compete and would need to find underrated players, avoid injuries and have a tremendous coaching job just to finish in the middle of the conference.

We need to get in that second tier with Providence, Xavier, Gtown & Nova.
