Good riddance to another empty suit water carrier for Pelosi & the rest of Dem leadership in the House. Never skipped a chance to slurp Israeli right wing war hawks either. Congrats to Jamaal Bowman, the latest Justice Dem to have some success. Excited to have another strong progressive voice in the House next year, as this is a safely blue seat.

AOC destroyed her joke of a primary opponent, some Republican Wall St worshipping former CNBC host who moved into the district 6 months ago strictly to primary AOC. Whoever she is, she got like 19% of the vote. Can’t wait for AOC to primary Schumer in 2024....it’s gonna be beautiful.

Still waiting on the hotly contested primary btwn McGrath & Booker in Kentucky. Winner goes up against Voldemort himself, Mitch McConnell. Progressive Charles Booker is a fantastic candidate, and I think he can ride the current moment & taste for true populist activism into a win over Moscow Mitch, even in a state like Kentucky. McGrath is an absolute zilch who stuck her foot in her mouth right out of the gate by saying she would have voted to confirm Kavanaugh & won’t condemn Trump. She excites no one, offers very little that’s different to Mitch, and will depress leftie turnout that will be crucial to defeating Mitch. Sadly we prolly won’t have any official results in this race for a week. Should be close even if Booker doesn’t get the nod.
 
Sadly, disgrace to SHU & WSOU Nicole Malliotakis won her Repub primary for the SI House seat. The party teed this up for her after she was asked to be the sacrificial lamb against De Blasio & she took her lumps & didn’t complain. She’ll go up against freshman “Dem” Max Rose, who is maddeningly centrist & Republican appeasing. He clearly feels he has to be as he represents my backwards, MAGA chud filled hometown of SI.
 
Ha, you're one of those who thought Kavanaugh should not be confirmed because the Dems had some loon make up a story from 30 years ago about kids drinking. You really are insane.

I am glad Eliot Engel appears to be losing. As a proponent of term limits, it is always great when an establishment figure loses, much like Joe Crowley a couple of years ago. The sad part about that is the replacements are far left crazies like AOC and a race-baiter like Jamaal Bowman. I would have hoped that more centrist, common sense people would have filed those seats as opposed to radical activists. But truthfully it's a small price to pay for dumping an establishment figure.

Notice how BS called the rep from Staten Island (and SH alum) a "disgrace." She is hispanic and greek American. There's a lesson here, kids: tolerance and diversity are great, but only if you're a far left Democrat!

Is it a coincidence that the cities that have the most unrest, protests, rioting in general all have the greatest wealth disparities? New York (Financial center/hedge funds, etc.); San Francisco/Bay Area (Tech/Apple/Facebook, etc.); Seattle (Microsoft/Amazon). Also companies that have done a crap job of diversity hiring and promotions. Cities with insane housing affordability issues and homeless. Where is their responsibility to the community?

BTW...NYC politics.....LMAO. Any city that elects Diblasio to two terms pretty much deserves what it gets.

Progressives went oh-fer in flipping house seats in 2018. Felt that burn for sure... That's what our country surely needs right, another vocal minority faction dragging a party off the rails and into fringe batshit craziness. Bad policy supported by bad math with a minimal chance of implementation sounds appealing. Let's get a big personality void of political accomplishment and create a cult-like following for him/her (or zim, zed, vir, xbox, R2D2, WKRP in Cincinnati...did I get them all?). I think it can work! The looney fringe right has shown us (thanks for being leaders) just how well using a shotgun to clear your sinuses works. I see the appeal...?

I think the lesson is that actions are important, not your gene pool. I am not commenting on this woman, who frankly, I have never heard of. But is it really surpising that far left dems like Bobbie like far left dems? And dont respect dems who cowtow, even if they are Hispanic?

IMO, everything is broke. Go to the china cabinet, take out the dishes and smash them against the wall. The job my generation has done running things is a total embarassment. And the job the dem party is doing is sad as well. And the dem's opponent, the republicans, doesnt even exist anymore. They support the fascist rich boy/Chapter 11 king ruler idiot who disgraces this country so often it is not even newsworthy.

well said, as always. To you Matt & @SHUSA, I mean she’s just the absolute worst. Matt, did you know her at all at SOU? Obviously her politics are gross, she’s a Trumper. I don’t agree with her on basically everything, and it’s sad to see a contemporary who, in theory, came from a similar ethos end up the way she did.

But I knew her really well too. We interned together as well. She’s one of the most negative, miserable people I’ve ever known. And that’s coming from me! You know the type...sucks all the fun out of room every time.

Any woman who could gleefully be a Trumper...ugh. Far worse mindset than that of a male Trumper. Can you imagine being that self-hating? The mental gymnastics...wow.

Great question for @SnakeTom and @Halldan1. I have never called for anyone to be banned, except for this individual, as I appreciate different viewpoints even if we disagree. With this poster, it is impossible to have a rational conversation. Disagreements immediately turn into name calling, personal attacks and, in this case, threats. He adds nothing to the board.

He is a menace and his only purpose on these boards is to rile people up and start trouble. He should have been gone a long time ago and I know for a fact that I am not the only one who would support his booting. A deranged individual who needs to get help. If his internet personality is any indication of his real life personality, I fear for those who interact with him. He is unstable.

I offered you an olive branch a month or so ago on the free board, which you rejected. I find it disheartening that you think anyone on here is "abhorrent" because they don't agree with your political perspective.

I have not been invoking your username "almost daily," only once in a while if the topic interests me and you happen to post something I feel needs to be responded to. As of tonight, Charles Booker down 45%-39% to Bloodbath McGrath, but only 10% of the state is in. No votes in at all from Louisville, Booker’s stronghold, or Lexington. Here’s hoping. With a Dem now I’m control of the state, I think a true change candidate might galvanize juuuuuuust enough people in this Trump/police reform era to eke our a win over McConnell. Gonna be tough though.

Would love to see some new/trustworthy polling out of SF for Pelosi’s first real primary challenger in years...activist Shahid Buttar. Buttar is such a smart guy & def. pinching at her heels in past polls. He will give her a run for her money in November bc it’s a jungle election, but that Dem machine can be tough, especially for her. Blecchhh.
 
Please try to get past the fact that generally Joy Ann Reid is the absolute worst. Booker w/a nice spot here while the final numbers are still a ways off. A win in November is gonna be a Herculean feat, but again, I love this guy...so inspiring:
