i think they needed 2 teams in elite 8.Was rooting/betting for a BIG EAAST sweep but still think conference did well
And now we are going to hear about the greatness of the ACC, with 3 schools. Impressed with Clemson 's run but thevother two caught nice breaks. If Kentucky doesn't gets knocked out and Snead doesn't get hurt for Houston, neither NC State and Duke are still alive today.i think they needed 2 teams in elite 8.
Duke got a BIG break when Houston's best player went down in the first half with an ankle sprain .And now we are going to hear about the greatness of the ACC, with 3 schools. This goes on every year with the conference stuff and results justifying a season’s worth of work. And now we are going to hear about the greatness of the ACC, with 3 schools. How? Marquette beat Western Kentucky, a play in team and lost to an #11 seed. Creighton beat a 14 and an 11 seed before losing. I'll give you UCONN, who seems like only the Celtics could stop them. However, neither Marquette nor Creighton did well considering they were a 2 and a 3 seed. Was rooting/betting for a BIG EAAST sweep but still think conference did well
Tennessee is also an average 3PT team at best and went 11/24.That missed call on the deflection on ashfords ridiculously bad pass was brutal. Tennessee is good.
Agree, I don't think Duke wins otherwise.Duke got a BIG break when Houston's best player went down in the first half with an ankle sprain .
18-0 run second half...could not recover...defense??I did not see the game but I did see the boxscore and if anyone told me Creighton would shoot 44.8% from the floor, 47.8% from the arc and 92.3% from the line I would have said absolutely no way they would have lost the game.
I think Tennessee was 1-7 in the sweet 16 before last night. Barnes including with Texas was probably worse. I went against UT last night but even without an 18-0 run they were just too physical for CU.Happy for Rick Barnes, but that’s about it. Creighton is tough to root for, but I wanted our conference to do well and show the rest of the country that we deserved to be included just as much as any conference.
Under admittedly a slightly tortured interpretation of the selection committee’s thinking, Houston should get a pass and the W because they lost best playerAgree, I don't think Duke wins otherwise.
NC state played the opening day of ACC tourney having lost 10 of prior 14 games and trailed Louisville at half by a point.Marquette missed a ton of open looks and even shot poorly from the free throw line.
If I’m a player with NC state, I’m buying a bunch of lottery tickets. Basketball gods are absolutely on their side.
A 3 seed lost to a 2 seed. And s16 is a decent showingHow? Marquette beat Western Kentucky, a play in team and lost to an #11 seed. Creighton beat a 14 and an 11 seed before losing. Kalk has another eligibility yearKalk was way too soft under the basket and they took away Alexander. McDermott coached his ass off with those defensive changes that got them back in the game. They just couldn’t get over the hump. The depth issue may have finally caught up to them. Not having a center to spell Kalk for a few minutes a half takes away his aggressiveness. Oh well they gave it all they had.
As much as Tennessee's game plan involved stopping Alexander, I thought he had an overall awful game until making some meaningless three-pointers at the end of the game. And what happened to Fredrick King? He seemed decent as a freshman last year. His playing time dropped this year as they relied heavily on the starters.Kalk was way too soft under the basket and they took away Alexander. This. Refs let them play which benefited Creighton and they were able to control Alexander and the PG. Tenn also had guys besides their star make shots despite being without a very solid starting guard. Impressive performance.Tennessee was just too good defensively and physical with them. They looked clearly like the better team.
And Lappas called him out for failing to stay on Knecht in the Triangle-and-2 defense McDermott was trying, and they switched him out for Scheierman.Alexander wasn't bad, he was horrific. Shot 3-12 with 3 turnovers & like a previous poster said, 2 of his made FG's were after the game had already been decided.
Very efficient stats in a loss. Will move up 20 spots in the NET.I did not see the game but I did see the boxscore and if anyone told me Creighton would shoot 44.8% from the floor, 47.8% from the arc and 92.3% from the line I would have said absolutely no way they would have lost the game.
