You and I don’t have total visibility into what’s actually happening. It’s anecdotal but I have a friend whose son works for the FAA. Received the letter but was told he was essential and would not be eligible. Another friend whose sister works at the navy shipyard in DC and was going to retire this year. She is taking the package. And if you haven’t noticed the deficit has skyrocketed so there is an urgency to address it.
They hated him but he obviously got GOP support. How?
Look at the last four years. All Biden did was spend money. Did nothing to address the deficit and Kamala said let’s not change anything.
Trump's 4 year he exploded the deficit. Did he not? And even under the Republican's budgetary plan, the deficit will increase another 4 trillion. Please do not tell me you believe Trump is going to do nothing but increase the national debt.
Yes, the deficit exploded during Trump 1.0 and Biden, primarily because of the pandemic. Did you forget that? I have no idea what he is going to do and what he is going to accomplish. Everything we are talking about here is what he’s doing and why he’s doing it. I’ve said repeatedly that he and Republicans are on the clock.
I don't recall seeing you crying when Biden was told by the Supreme Court that he didn't have the authority to forgive student loans and he continued to do it anyway. If your team isn't the one breaking the rules I guess its ok then?
He increased the debt before the pandemic. The debt during his 4 years increased by 8 trillion dollars. Less than half was due to the pandemic. About $3.6 trillion of that was due to the pandemic and this was during a time of good economic times with low unemployment. A time when the deficit should have been reduced.
You have no idea what he is going to do this time??? Did you see the budget pro prof the Republicans? Another 4 trillion in debt.
If you’re this upset, find a better candidate in 2028. I’m not going to predict the outcome of his four years. I hope he’s successful as I would hope for any President.
This is a focus group of eleven people, all were selected because they swung from Biden to Trump. Am I supposed to be surprised that most of them came to this conclusion?

That’s a cop out that you don’t know what the outcome will be. He has already told you that the debt will be going up.
Tariffs will bring inflation to the country. He is trying to end the war to get OPEC to produce more oil to get gas prices down. Ukraine will be sacrificed to get more oil production out of OPEC. He is ruining our relations with our allies in Europe and is looking to break NATO.
What is there to predict? He is telling you.
Meanwhile, the masses are doing cartwheels over DOGE because they are firing people and closing down agencies.
In 2028, there will be a much better candidate. Shapiro, Mark Kelly, Andy Beshear and Newsome ( dem Billionaire Mark Cuban) will all be very formidable candidates.
Not statistically significant, but I’d bet a a significant sample would be very similar.
Many of them voted for a “shakeup” and they are getting that. It will take some time before we know how the shakeup is impacting people.
I haven’t seen much from the administration that will actually help everyday Americans, so I’d guess buyers remorse will show up over time if all of his accomplishments are cuts to spending and tax cuts. Will take time though.

Exactly…right now it’s all about understanding what he’s doing and why. No one can predict how things will shake out in 2-4 years. Most people care about 1) can they provide for themselves and their family and 2) safety of their family. It’s a combination of statistics and feel.
The budget process will be a good test. How comprehensive will the immigration/border bill be? At the same time, what happens in the Middle East, Ukraine/Russia and China.
DOGE has been a fascinating study….identifying government waste every day and then publishing it on a platform (X), without having the MSM control the narrative. There has been a steady flow of information and no immediate end in sight. Now you see cabinet members re-posting the waste examples. 75,000 RIF is material too.

No one called him a Nazi until he did a Nazi salute.
I like Musk as a visionary and his understanding of where humanity is going but I dislike the version of him that has embraced being a troll and vengeance against those who may have slighted him.
Musk has always been a troll of sorts on social media. So many examples of it over the years, which would piss off his investors. It’s not new….just in a bigger stage now and a media target.
Flow of information, much of which has been wrong or misleading is not a good thing.
A reduction in force may be a good thing as far as government spending, but that doesn’t really help everyday Americans, and if those cuts get large enough, it will be the opposite where it starts to hurt the economy.
