Here's the deal

So much different than pro sports. No fan in pro sports is buying a player through "endorsements" while that is what is occuring in college sports. Pro sports don't monitor money other than what the pro team gives them. There's no need to. Here there are and who is anyone to say which money you can make or which money you can't. That's where lawsuits come in.
well actually players do consider endorsements when they sign somewhere. but point is, put a cap on it. it wont make it fair. it never was fair. it will just make it more like how it was.

If you cap Endorsements, it will create even more lawsuits.

whats new though? thats the rules they dont have play.

the money is so big the IRS has woken up. these endorsement deals wil be reported , and sweeping under the rug will not just be an ncaa penalty , but a federal one.

It always was a federal one if they didn’t report it.

You can’t cap endorsements…you are limiting a players right to earn.

Yeah. You make it sound like people aren’t still going to get that. And I’m betting those that do, don’t report it
i dont think anyone is worried about under the table . but now everything is out in the open it's an easier ticket for IRS to follow. are corporations employing bag men ?

No they’re getting deductions they never got. But if you think $100 handshakes are completely done. I think you’re wrong

exactly what it says. you can earn as much as you want. doesnt mean you're eligible to play in a game. same thing if a transfer sit out rule is instituted. its their right to pay, not to play.
These are good ideas. Unfortunately, the courts have deemed them illegal.

Caps can't be instituted unilaterally. That's collusion or restraint of trade.

What entity (i.e. union) are you bargaining with and what are you giving in return to get the cap?
