I don’t think there was anti-cop rhetoric coming from Obama but it was coming from community leaders with police involved shootings. But you are right that it has toned down. The reason is not the President. The reason is the more and more law enforcement is using Body Worn Cameras. These cameras have cut down the allegations of police brutality. Moreover, the times when cops have been abusing their authority, they have been being charged criminally. Cameras have been very useful to law enforcement. In my opinion, every town should have BWC on their officers.

This is overboard, but how can you not expect Republicans to over play the economy and border security. They won an unwinnable election in 2016 with it. Of course they're going to stick to it and amplify their message louder. There's a better chance Jay Wright going away from the 3 point line than the Republicans going away from economy and border security.

Yes and I totally agree that we should have a secure border but the vote Republican or you will all die from illegal immigrant super islamic mexican cop killers and Democrats want you to die is a little more than just running on border security

You make good points as always. Frustrating times we live in. I think most of us realize we are all similar regardless of political affiliation and want the best for our country and our neighbors and our friends. Forces are working against those truths and for the cause of division.

Let’s take Union County for example. No municipality had BWC 5 years ago. 18 of 21 Municipalitues have it now and all will have it by next year. I would guess that 95% of departments state wide did not have BWC back then. At least 50% do now. This is not just NJ but nation wide.
