you and the bois would sob and weep about that statement being textbook "whataboutism"

Meanwhile in NJ, our governor continues to stick it to the lower and middle classes.

Not at all. It raises insurance coverage from a measles $15k to 25k and then to 35k of insurance coverage. Far too many people are screwed by people who are underinsured. 15k has been the minimum for so long. It is time to raise it.

It’s not sticking it to the low or middle class it is protecting people who get hurt.

I want my auto premiums to be as low as possible, especially since I am forced to purchase it by the state.

Ah so you opt for the lowest coverage? Not a smart move.

No, but I don't want my premiums raised because the state says so. Imagine a business forcing you to buy a product and raising prices with no consequence. That's what government does, and it gets away with it.

Ideally, we wouldn’t need any government…
But we will keep proving over and over again that we are incapable of self governance.

If we were not mandated to have insurance, most people just wouldn’t buy any and then it ends up unaffordable for the few people who actually want it.

You’re playing the blind partisanship card after that last thread where you literally came to defend republicans blindly?
I was defending Toomey’s position. Just like I would defend Matt Tuerk who is doing an awesome job.

*defend without knowing what was in the bill and making stuff up about other crap in it seemed kinda blind partisan to me.

Everyone here is partisan, some maybe more blindly than others. (Except for maybe the two that just hate the government doing anything)

The minimum coverage from the state has been the same since you started driving.

Why would that make sense?

Why wouldn't it? Why are there minimums in the first place?

Nice deflection. I still defend Toomey on his position. And not everyone is partisan…pretty naive, even for you.

Because the minimum is supposed to cover the basic costs associated with an accident.

Prices of everything has gone up, why should the minimum stay the same?

We need minimums because it protects people. If given the choice, too many people pick the lowest possible policy and then coverage is worthless and bankrupts people. There is no cost sharing and adequate coverage for what you have currently would be unobtainable.

Just pointing out your blind partisanship.

Imagine a business raising prices. Lol it happens all the time. From prime Amazon membership to airline travel charging for everything g that used to be included ina ticket.

However, insurance coverage protects not only the people who get hurt by your negligent driving, it also protects the negligent driver. This is a no brainer. No one should only have 15k of liability insurance. That is not enough. This is just a common sense move.

That's not what I said. I said imagine them raising prices AND forcing you to buy it. Nobody can force you to buy anything, except the government. It's ridiculous.

No one is forcing you to buy a car either. No one is forcing you to have a drivers license. It’s up to you to buy that car. Just like any other business. But if you do, you are going to have buy insurance. And that’s the right thing. Your anti-government Schtick is so over the top that things that are mandated by the government for the good of the people you are against.

Stick to their limited, enumerated powers not be the answer to everyone's two-bit problems.
You are speaking of only the Federal Government here. So does that include the necessary and proper clause? do you include inherent powers of the government?

I would bet you would have found that the Federal government does not have the authority to set up social security, or medicare because it is not an enumerated power.

You would win that bet.

Dems sure are morons:

A ridiculous amendment that literally did nothing... and dems are morons for voting against it? Not the people who supported the nothingness?

Doing nothing is very on brand for the current republican party though.
