Jerry on the game

Gus played a nice five minutes in the first half. Toumi played well for a few in the second. The rest best left unsaid...

Everytime you think we have a few pieces here for next year, you watch them play like this, and realize how awful this team is. The fact that this roster cost us $1.5M goes to show how insane the NIL is. These guys should be giving back their NIL money (or donating it to a charity).

I realize that it is no different in Pro Sports where terrible teams are paying guys millions. Nonetheless, it is just hard to accept that we are paying guys (for essentially the first time) and it is probably the worst team in SHU history. I have never seen a team that gets blown out so quickly. The Connecticut win was fun, but this has just been the most unenjoyable season ever. We are 2-13 with 9 losses by double digits and 7 by 15 plus. Just awful

halftime deficits / Final
Nova -8 / -12
Gtown -9 / -1
Xavier -13 / -22

Providence - Tie / -6

Marquette -12 / -17
Creighton -4 / -25

UCONN +3 / +1

Not to mention our pace of play is excruciatingly painful to watch. If Sha thinks the snail’s pace gives us the best chance to win then he has to have them defending at the highest level. Since we’ve proven that we’re incapable of playing a lick of defense, he should just let them play ball. See what happens. Entertain us.

All that matters now is MSG next month. A new season. A wish and a hope. At this point, we’re just playing out the string, doing the same things over and over again.

They had no chance in this game. Coming off the high Saturday and then having to imm fly to Milwaukee to play a Marquette team that had the week off with virtually no practice time was way too much to overcome for even a quality team.

Let's hope Sunday we'll see a more representative SHU team.

Here we go again

Watching the game last night, I thought the exact same thing as Jerry - Brick City - and on decent looks! It led me this evening to take a closer look at the Pirates shooting percentages. Yikes! How is this even possible?

Coleman - 38.2%
Jenkins - 38.7%
Addae-Wusu - 36.5%
Dual - 40.2%
Felton - 34.8%
Toumi - 35.8%
Yalden - 38.3%

Per Teamrankings.com, Seton Hall is #348 in the nation in FG percentage.

The only portal guy who produced was Jenkins. What we paid the others I don't know but maybe that would have kept either DD or KR here.
Don't know if either would have stayed, but better resource management is important.

I doubt we will see 10 player rotation aspirations in the future. If we do, it will be a real problem.

Well, we’ll always have the vibes from the UCONN game. Lol

Most of the players with potential are freshmen or sophomores who are going through their first seasons as featured players and overmatched right now. We get nothing from the experienced players or at least nowhere near what you would expect from 5th year types. I wouldn’t throw the young guys out, but we desperately need an infusion of 2-3 difference makers if we’re going to keep a handful of these guys.
