Seems combo of both, lot of recent losing, but seems to be having trouble as well with portal and he doesn't seem happy with new college dynamics.
According to reports at the time GMU granted SHU permission to interview him and he said no to the opportunity to interview.
I heard he isn’t necessarily “fed up” with the system..he obv does not like it
But it’s more like he just can’t learn or want to learn a new system..it’s been tough and too much for him

I listened to him and talked to him before but thanks
Love the guy But he wasn’t fed up 2 years ago when they hit the ground running in NIL and he wasn’t fed up when they were reaching out to KR
It got to be too much for him..he didn’t even know who he was recruiting anymore
Also, he got tired of his diminished NIL and losing out
What I will agree he has long though part of his “secret sauce” is that he can just out coach and develop more than his peers
And he felt with the new climate that advantage he had was fleeting or gone
There’s no chance you quit in the middle of a season. And just at the beginning of the conference schedule without something serious behind the scenes.
NIL and the portal are long over with for this season. If it’s too much then say you’re quitting at the end of this season so you don’t have to worry about it and only focus on basketball one last time.
