You're preaching to the choir brother.I miss the old school under the table ways haha haha, blue chips style, look at that fool who went to Rutgers Derkack everyone including us gushed over him because he scored a lot on MERRIMACK..... if he was so good he wouldnt have gone to MERRIMACK and I'm not even busting on him, I'm annoyed because til NIL came players who were top 200 players made it, and randomly someone above would transfer in and sit out a year 2do so, now me IronKaz can friggin play for you if I look the part......
I like Coleman and always thought he would be good but I must be watching a different Coleman then most of this board.
He frequently got lost on D and beat on the boards. That Luis put back dunk that changed the momentum was all him not boxing out...
Just my observations ...
eh we did well I believe haha, players didn't transfer when their mother woke up with a cold like they do know ..You're preaching to the choir brother.
Seton Hall has been losing out on recruits because of money for 2 decades now. We were better off with it happening under the table. Now it's out in the open for everyone to see how the sausage is made and it's disgusting.
a shame because someone like "John Allen" or "Andre Sweet" who played well for us stayed on our team didn't even contemplate leaving and ended up Seton Hall University AlumniNo one here is saying Coleman is a #1 but if the market is determining that as a #2 or #3 he can get 1+ mil that's what he will get no matter how much our staff, admin, or board scoffs.
PGs and big man are at a premium. 2s and 3s not as much. We’re going to have to pay at least 2 players more than $1M each in this cycle to have an impact. A PG being one, preferably. Add those 2 and a couple serviceable guys, then you can return a handful of this years players for cheap depth. That’s where the market is. If we don’t have the stomach for that it’s a problem. If we don’t think Coleman will be one then fine, then find another.
Wait until we get into bidding wars.
And was the team's leading rebounder by 1.4 boards per game.I like Coleman and always thought he would be good but I must be watching a different Coleman then most of this board.

They did well at the time. But that was also 25 years ago. Different game.how do these bench players get paid more than our Eddie Griffins or Andre Barretts?
Can't give too much info. But a highly recruited former BB athlete that has a ND degree who is basically a clean cut white dude like me who is very friendly and well spoken, and many years later has a low paying job with state issued Medicaid insurance. 10k people have walked thru the doors of my business and I honestly have not seen a correlation between your alma mater and financial success.Look at Tae Davis now, he has 3 seasons in 1 with us 2 with Notre Dame, why would you leave Notre Dame now? That is an amazing school........ is that 1 season you leave for better than your UND degree Davis?
And was the team's leading rebounder by 1.4 boards per game.
I’ll bet you miss it, when top ten programs only had to spend $50,000 to $75,000 a year to solve their problems. That doesn’t buy you the tenth guy on the bench anymore.I miss the old school under the table ways haha haha, blue chips style, look at that fool who went to Rutgers Derkack everyone including us gushed over him because he scored a lot on MERRIMACK..... if he was so good he wouldnt have gone to MERRIMACK and I'm not even busting on him, I'm annoyed because til NIL came players who were top 200 players made it, and randomly someone above would transfer in and sit out a year 2do so, now me IronKaz can friggin play for you if I look the part......
To me “studs” are very very high level/potential 1st team conference players. I don’t see him ever approaching that level. Guess we’ll see in a few years.Coleman with any competent players around him would be an absolute stud. Next year on a "real" team expect 12-15ppg, 6 rebounds, 1.5 stl, and an all conference nod.
So you think that’s going to be easy to replace a 15 point per game BE scorer? And he’s only a sophomore. We need at least three BE starters. If he stays then you only need two. It’s going to be incredibly difficult to get those two/three guys.It is absurd to pay Coleman anything close to $1 million. He has lots of deficiencies and we can do better with that amount.
The amount of money being thrown at these college players is insane. I have pretty much come to grips that we might never be competitive again. I am still hoping but really having hard time envisioning it. Will be happy to be proven completely wrong. Too many schools out there willing to pay top dollars for average to slightly above average players. Don’t see how we keep up even with increased NIL. Others are still much higher. Even the average players might be so much we can only get a few. Crazy how fast this got out of control.
Echoing your point, isn’t it funny that the Fab Five is often cited as a reason why NIL was necessary, yet the Fab Five could never happen today because no single school could afford to pay all of them? The amount of money being thrown at these college players is insane. Of course, but it’s all relative. How much are front line PGs and centers getting?PGs and big man are at a premium. 2s and 3s not as much.
RU tried with the PRO 2 + 2. 😂Echoing your point, isn’t it funny that the Fab Five is often cited as a reason why NIL was necessary, yet the Fab Five could never happen today because no single school could afford to pay all of them?
Not that it matters but Coleman didn’t play in the NITDon’t understand all the bashing of Coleman . As a freshman he was the 6th man on the NIT. Champions. He will only get better and I feel we will regret not keeping him for many ressons
cooper flagg is worth more than lots of nba players so are a nunber of college playersno college players are worth more than NBA players .......
Not really he has not proven himself to be a great or even good NBA player yet. There are a lot of kids coming to the NBA with great college credentials and they never ever translate to the NBA. Yes the potential is there. In the NBA it is a business and you get paid on your results and not your college stats.cooper flagg is worth more than lots of nba players so are a nunber of college players
lofl like guys who skate thru life on their daddys dime ever paid a nickel loflever heard of paying your dues in life ?
