Amazing how Trump continues to get people fixated on the stuff that doesn't mean anything and/or he won't do. A master of distraction and marketing.
The COVID era revealed how many of our fellow citizens are truly against free speech. It was eye opening, and horrifying. We see it continuing today.

Here's another piece of reality that probably has escaped you: LA is up in flames largely due to the total incompetence of Newsome , Bass and other progressives all of whom were elected by people like you. They are about to get another dose of reality when they try to rebuild.

Personally think its his way of negotiating, not really going to take over the canal but wants discounted or Free fees for our ships. Canada and Greenland are his way to have something to discuss when he brings Russia and Ukraine to the table. He wants to let countries know we are done being taken advantage of. Denmark is smart, they are open to talking with him. Denmark realizes they need our protection and support. Open up a world map, Russia 100% does not want us in their neighborhood. Denmark might play along to get Russia out of Ukraine. Trump tells Putin to lay off or we are cutting a deal with Denmark for Greenland. Tons of oil in the seas between Russia and Greenland which Russia is already taking advantage of. Plus we can setup military bases in Greenland with missiles aimed at Russia. Not to mention he distracts the media from all the people he wants in his cabinet. Trump is smarter than people give him credit for, exactly why lots of people are now being nice to him. This kind of thinking was never part of our current presidents brain. Not a knock on Joe but he's a politician not a business man.

In Denmark's case, they literally have no defense system now as they have lent their armillary to Ukraine and not in a position to increase their arms spending. They (and other European countries NEED the U.S. for military support. Do they really need Greenland? Greenland has potential value to the US for minerals and for defense. If Denmark can't pay us/NATO for military needs, maybe Greenland is on the table?
The U.S./Canadian border is one of the longest in the world and we are susceptible to illegal's/terrorists coming over from the north. That border also needs to be secured.
So what you're saying is the US is looking to take advantage of Denmark. so it's the complete opposite.

Yes, in this case the U.S. is taking advantage of the leverage we have. I didn’t say Denmark was taking advantage of us.
We also have a problem on the northern border relating to immigration also. It isn’t the same numbers by far but the people crossing their illegally are more likely terrorists or Chinese nationals.
Used the wrong word, We are Canada’s largest customer. We buy autos and dairy products which help drive their economy. We run a trade deficit of over 200 billion. Their economy would suffer greatly without us. Same is true of Mexico, except we need what Mexico produces. Denmark owns Greenland and they count on us for protection. Denmark has been gracious and appreciative. Canada not so much hence the use of the phase taking advantage of us.
Trump needs leverage to negotiate a deal between Russia and Ukraine. We could hurt Canada and Denmark/Greenland and change the geography of our footprint but that would not be very neighborly, but then again Russia is not being very neighborly are they. Russia is depleting their military right now while USA could double in size without firing any weapons. Not to mention if we leverage Denmark/Greenland we would could keep an eye on Russia. The smart Folks in Denmark might buy into the Greenland partnership to put Russia in check. If Trump delivers this message maybe he gets the fighting to stop. It’s better than doing nothing while financing death and destruction.
Long shot but bet it works.
Have to negotiate differently with Mexico, we need their products and cooperation, but we do have some leverage there as well. Choices have to be made to keep peace. America has been so predictable that being unpredictable right now may cause people around the world to wake up and appreciate our country. A strong America benefits many countries around the world.

They won't say it publicly, but given how the world stage has changed with Russia AND China, Denmark knows that if we owned Greenland , they would be better served from a security perspective.
I mentioned this a few weeks ago. The number one product Mexico exports are automobiles (most of which from American car makers that have IC plants in Mexico). And the U.S. is the number one customer for those exports. While tariffs would raise the cost of those cars, there are other options for American car buyers of vehicles not produced in Mexico....especially EV's which Tesla produces exclusively in U.S. factories. If Trump went through with the Mexico tariffs it would be a big boost to Musk.
I think Putin is looking for a way out of this mess he created. Personally we all should be pulling for an end to that war. Nothing good is going to come from all the fighting. I expect Trump to meet with Denmark in the first 30 days of office. Thank god we have leadership again. Joe was in way over his head, but was still better than Kamala even in his current state of mind. Pathetic how far we have fallen.
Plus Dems would be happy more electric cars. Mexico grows lots of fruits and vegetables. We do need their farming especially since California is a such a big question mark.
