MEN'S BRACKETOLOGY

FIRST TEAM OUT

i

Imagine if this holds. Samuel left the Hall to play for Florida and Lunardi has us in and Florida out.

Looks like Lunardi moved Nebraska ahead of us last night after they defeated Wisconsin.

Wisconsin had a 19-point first half lead, led by 16 at halftime and by 18 four minutes into the second half but lost 80-72 in OT in Lincoln.

My guess is made an adjustment after the game but didn't make the change every place it needed to be made. Joe makes that mistake a couple of times a year.

Believe it or not, USA Today did not have us in the tournament and we were not in the First Four Out and the Next four Out. It had UCONN, Marquette, Creighton, St John's and Providence in with Butler First Four Out and Nova Next Four out.

Couldn't believe it. Probably go by net or just don't pay attention

Lunardi for as long as he does this, historically always gets 1-2 teams wrong and brags about his accuracy. Getting two wrong isn’t good in this job.

He is also notorious for being more often than not way off on his seed lines.

I agree with Lloyde, Wachtel, Bracketville, and even Bracket Matrix for an aggregate average are much better options to follow.

The first two really take the time to dive into the analytics / metrics along with the actual results with their schedule much closer than most.

Look at how many teams above us in the NET have zero-2 quad 1 wins.

Lunardi pucked the whole field accurately once about 20 years ago and created a cottage industry for himself

SJU is 2-6 in Q1 but 5-1 in Q2 along with 2-1 in Q3 and 4-0 in Q4. They have two OOC wins in the NET top 100.

SHU is 4-4 in Q1, 1-2 in Q2, 2-2 in Q3 and 7-0 in Q4. Our best OOC win is now a Q3 with Missouri at 131 in the NET.

The four Q1 wins are nice but the rest of the resume is lacking. We're under .500 against Q1-3 with half our wins in Q4, no solid OOC wins and those two Q3 losses don't help.

You can't just look at the good parts of a team's resume and ignore the negatives.

They shouldnt have a net of 38, 30 spots better than us By your rationale u can beat teams outside quad 1 and be top 50 net, but not have many quad 1 wins, some teams 1 or none and be ranked top 50. So much for who u beat.

Who you lost to is obviously important, as well.
