Mike Gundy

The first line of his post was a complete fail and it went downhill from there.
Just say it and dont be fake about it you are part of a group of folks here that feel you are deserving of the world you get to live in, you have your golf tee times and all is well for you but the oppressed cant speak up, there cant be any demonstration of how and why they feel a certain way...

1) Liz Wheeler is hot.

2) If her comments are a stain on that entire channel, the same must apply to all the stupid things said on CNN, MSNBC, FOX, NBC, ABC, et al so no more tshirts.

3) Is it really empathy to want to keep people of color as wards of the state?

4) Surprised snowflakes are still around now that it is getting warmer.

5) Liz Wheeler is hot.
Failing SPK, going downhill fast

You have major problems...I would suggest that you get some professional help.

My teetime is 10:30 on Friday.

Everyone here has expressed support for peaceful protest/demonstration, we have drawn the line at rioting and looting.

Nobody is deserving of anything. People work for their money and they are free to spend that money as they see fit (i.e. golf).

This was depicted in film 25 years ago one of my fav movies of the mid 90s and yet here we are...
Sure, use Hollywood to promote your case which has done such a great job of not recognizing African American film makers and actors (that they get called out on every year) while protecting the most vial sexual predators like Weinstein and Spacey. You may want to take a break...you've gotten off to a horrendous start this morning:)

I know about 20th century world history. Very awful, inhumane acts took place. I would not label them a farce ever, I presented a hypthetical comp to BLM. I feel its fine if a pundit or anything board member disagrees with BLM but it should not be labeled a farce like the events above I cited should be far distant from that word.

Yes it is a farce if you're saying black men are being mowed down in the streets by police. The facts don't support the movement.

For the record, I am fully on board with Black Lives Matter the movement but not on board with Black Lives Matter the organization.

The greatest way to empower a community is to provide opportunities to work and advance ones life and career. I'm a numbers guy. African-Americans are 13% of U.S. population. If you want to focus on empowering a community you may want to start here:

Percent African-American workforce:
Apple: 6.0%
Twitter: 1.7%
Facebook: 3.0%
Microsoft: 4.1%
Google: 2.5%

Feel free to ask the minority make-up of our employee base....

Gundy caves, what a surprise. I fear for my future kids.
2 months ago he cited in conference call to media that OAN just reports the facts, now today once I found out how that organization feels about Black Lives Matter it disgusted me....finebaum said today he should go, fact of matter is his agent/lawyer has a very good contract with a lot of safety measures for himself...i dont believe he should be terminated but not sure how sincere he comes across here...one thing for some of you to think about especially shu09 freedom and freedom from consquences are two seperate things...
Ie how one's social media can negatively impact their employment

Freedom to wear a t shirt on a private trip is banned? You and patsy Bobbie Solo applaud this, but one day they'll come for something innocent you two have done. Once the cycle starts it becomes cannibalistic and eats its own. Enjoy

I just gave you my opinion on all of this above...of course he shouldnt be fired over this but 2 months ago he says they report news with no editorial slant now he says once i found out this org is against blm it disgusted me. I know many in and around the sports media, got a bunch of texts earlier how sincere is this really...now he is known for blowing a gasket at a female newspaper reporter 13 years ago in a very famous rant and then the following week when she asked what was inaccurate about what was written because they would like to write a retraction correction he said he wouldnt talk about it. He has the freedom to wear what he chooses. However it got in social media, consequence happens from that.
You are just an spk copier using the same.phrase he did the other day.

If a coach or manager of largely black team/biz wears a shirt likely to piss off most of his players/employees, he should be fired for being so f'ing stupid. How bout Kevin walking around Westfield in a r e lee tee, and saying how he always admired his military prowess. No big deal, right. It could even be true that he admired that, and colossally stupid and lacking any empathy.

Let's hear it for false equivalencies!

There’s a correlation of that action and his ability to be employed as an NFL player. Just like there would be a correlation of Gundys action to his ability to attract minority players to his program.

I have a ton of questions on this. How far does this go? Should players have a say in who their coach votes for? How many players and coaches can openly have a dialogue about their views without forcing either side to change and still have respect for one another? Do you think all 95 players on scholarship at OSU have the same liberal views? Personally I highly doubt it. How should all of those players with conservative views feel? Should they transfer? Can people like OAN and be against police brutality? Of course. Can some players and coaches ask why BLM doesn’t pay attention to violence against blacks made by non cops? They certainly can. The beauty of college is meeting people from all different backgrounds, being open minded, and hearing them out.

So basically what I'm reading here is Mike Gundy needs to be more sensitive to his players and conform his views to his players. Some suggest his insensitivity for those that help provide his living is a fireable offense. Heck Paul Finebaum is calling for his firing. What happens if a coach of another sports wears a BLM shirt, coaching an all conservative team? Logic says that coach should face the same wrath that Gundy has received.

I don't think he should be fired for the t-shirt. He would be fired for not being able to attract the talent necessary to win football games. Pandering to a bunch of 18,19, 20 year old kids is part of the job. Coaches tell players what they want to hear to make them all warm and fuzzy inside. If he's not into it, he should look for another profession or go to the pros like PJ did. Yes, if the success of the coach wearing the BLM t-shirt largely relies on attracting players that believe the opposite, his job performance would probably eventually deserve a firing.

This tread is incredible. I find it interesting that certain people here, who are talking about people being triggered and calling folks snowflakes, are commenting on every little story that goes against their individual opinions.

Pot meet kettle.

I'm curious what your thoughts are on current OSU players who have conservative views. Get out? Stay quiet? Speak out? What would you recommend if your son or daughter was in that position?

Having conservative views vs saying BLM is a farce are two seperate views.

That's an interesting perspective you have on the leadership qualities that a head coach needs to have to be successful. Pandering is in the job description? You're suggesting that a good coach is one that lies to his players rather than motivate and teach and be honest about what they need to do to succeed? Personally, I would respect a coach (or boss) more that had a differing POV and was upfront and honest about it,rather than one that said one thing and did another.

Stop. People will point out the hypocrosy of Trump in a heartbeat. I guess you can't say anything negative about BLM. People who see the ridiculousness of BLM only showing up when a white cop kills a black man and ignoring the deaths that happen every day in the community by regular citizens should shut up and change their views. Just remember You ain't black if you don't vote for Biden. Tell Joe black lives matter, even the ones who vote republican.
