I see the argument that Redskins is a slur and Chief Wahoo wasn’t the best representative, but the Cherokee Nation has just put in a plea to Jeep for a name change.

Where is that line drawn? I drive a Dodge Dakota, is that next? My brother’s Denali? Do we start changing the names of states as well? Drop the Dakotas, Illinois, Indiana, etc? Are Native Americans looking to wipe their tribal names off everything until there is no mention left and the nation, the world, collectively forgets about them altogether?

I hope Jeep doesnt cave. You would think there would be pride in seeing their name associated with American products. San Francisco is reversing their school name changes that would of dropped racist names like Washington, Lincoln and Revere lol.

Is cancel culture finally reversing?

GM cancelled the Chevy Impala before PETA could intervene

I must be missing something, was there a Jeep tribe? Maybe its already been wiped clean.
jeep

Seriously, I see a gigantic gap between Redskins, which is a racial slur, and the use of tribal names in reverence. My god, didn’t they celebrate Obama’s change the name of Mount McKinley to Mount Denali?

I agree a line is hard to draw, but wherever it is it’s being lept right over.

This is what those of us who are against all this PC stuff keep saying. One instance in and of itself doesn't seem like much, but what it does is set a precedent to go even further the next time. Then another change repeats the cycle, and another, and another, etc. You have to nip it in the bud before it gets out of control.

This seems ridiculous that there is an objection to the name that is on the vehicle which just so happens to be a great SUV. Hell, I can understand if the Jeep Cherokee was some piece of garbage vehicle. The San Fran name changing was just one of the most mind blowing things I ever heard. I am glad to hear that has been reversed.

This kind of stuff goes too far. So the people who are moderate who object to confederate (traitor) statues, need to also stop when the far left goes too far in trying to strip the names of schools named Washington and Jefferson as well. The balance is what is needed. The Ying and Yang.

they literally named it cherokee because they thought it was cool!!

they should rename it to Jeep Navajo and donate 5% of sales to the navajo tribe.

How long will FSU chant survive ? It is annoying when you are ruiting for their opponent so I won’t miss it.

Jeep started making the Cherokee in 1984, they're a little late to the party. Their Comanche brethren must have been on it in 1992, when they discontinued that truck.

How we’ve gotten rid of the Fighting Sioux and still have the Fighting Irish is amazing to me.

What is more amazing is South Carolina!

Is it worse that it sensationalizes cock fighting or that they obviously capitalize on merchandise because it’s akin to having a big bold DICK on your hat?
