Potential Sha Replacements

I gave up on Holloway early in year 2 during the disastrous non-conference performance. They did turn it around in conference play but, too little too late. You need to be prepared to go from the start.

You don't even take into consideration the best period of time Sha's had at Seton Hall which occurred after you wrote him off.

Very balanced perspective. Glad your not my boss.

This is a yes and no...there is propoganda journalism and insiders but is also works anti to that as well with some that target certain programs or coaches

This is true. For example, Jeff Goodman targets Mike Woodson and John Calipari. The entire industry targets Doug Gottlieb. But 97% of the college hoops media is pro-coach. There is nobody out there in the media who target Holloway, they make excuses for him like this board.

One 20 game stretch in a 101-game sample size doesn't prove anything. In fact, it makes me lean the other way, that it was the exception and not the rule. But go on, keep making excuses as he flies this program into a mountain.

That stretch was because of Kadary and Dre. One of which was maligned almost non stop on here for the better part of 6 months.

That's ridiculous, the whole season counts. Just ridiculous.

Sounds like an agenda with a response like that, when did that become you?

The whole season does count, and that is why Seton Hall didn't make the NCAA Tournament!
Because of bid stealers. They certainly should have made it over Michigan State and Virginia (and they showed why in the NCAA's) , to think otherwise means you're not being honest.

Now you're flip-flopping and changing your tune?

Incorrect. It's your opinion they should have made it over MSU and UVA (I disagree). Seton Hall would have made it if it weren't for the abnormally high number of bid stealers. But Seton Hall was in that position, where it did not control its own fate, because of the abhorrent play in the non-conference.

I have no agenda, I just see things that are major red flags with the coach's personality, coaching style, communication, etc. You name it.

I know you have a personal friendship with him (that's fine), but that means you're the one with an agenda. Same goes for many others on this board.

That is true, I've known him since he as 16, he's a phenomenal person, he deserves as much chance as anyone should, but I've also mentioned that if we have this same conversation again next year the hot seat will be out.

Fair enough. My position on him as a coach is clear. I just hope you stand by that and don't let your friendship bias cloud your judgement if he continues to fail. I hope he succeeds, but my hopes are not high. Absent a major change in his approach, I don't think he can succeed as this level.

So you want him gone now, who would you reasonably replace him with, remembering this is Seton Hall?

I would look at Ryan Odom, Tony Skinn, and Kevin Keatts. Is Pikiell on the hot seat at Rutgers? If they ever let him go, I'd give him a call. I'm not well versed on the top assistants in the sport, but that's not a bad place to look either.

But I know this won't happen this season. It's Seton Hall, it's their guy. He has his buddy in the AD's office, and SH is dealing with bigger things at the administrative level.

There is no way Odom is taking this job. I’d even doubt Skinn would. They want something bigger.

Other than Keatts miraculous and completely dubious final four run, he’s had a very, very lackluster coaching career with a much richer pot of NIL

You can look at those guys, but they aren’t going to look back.

Mike Woodson is also available. Why not him?
Or King Rice? He beat Sha this year.
Better yet, what about Patrick Ewing.
And Mike Anderson has never had a losing season.

Coaches I’ve talked to don’t necessarily have the greatest things to say about Sha (I’ve said that for years btw) however he isn’t THAT bad

However, EVERYONE agrees we are very small time (have always been which is why KW was spoken on highly by people I know)…if they fire him this year with what people know were the resources he was given your search should probably start with local JV and Modified coaches

No one would even go near us after a move like that..it is what it is..hope he gets better
