Jay Wright, Bill Self and Tony Bennett were all considered losers in the tournament too. Until they weren’t. Barnes will eventually break through. Painter too.

Granted Barnes has had a lot of bites at the apple (26 NCAA appearances) but he does have a Final Four, two more Elite Eights and five Sweet Sixteens.

Eight second weekend trips is nothing to sneeze at.

As a program we have four and none since 2000.
