So where was Yalden?

And Sha just announced he has no idea when Jenkins or Coleman will be back
This is just so annoying.

It’s beyond the point of whether people care when players come back. The cat and mouse of players coming back from injury is not even gamesmanship because the team sucks.

So whether the starters play or the bench, opposing coaches don’t care.

Seems as if he has no idea about a lot of things.

Coleman's injury is interesting. Had a career game in a woeful contest last time out. Wonder if it is general soreness?
Back spasms per tv. Guess trying to carry a team is burdensome. 😵‍💫

It’s time for people to accept Yalden is only seeing the court if Okorafor and Godswill are in foul trouble. Or if we play DePaul. Sha clearly focusing on developing those two guys. Yalden will be a 12 and 5 guy in the MVC next year.

Would be a nice standard to just acknowledge why players aren't on the bench. I mean this is so ridiculous. We're not asking for the nuclear codes here on a team that's 6-14. If Sha was more media savvy he could figure out how to be proactive on these things and control the flow. But that's not his strong suit..

Just say, "Coleman came down with a back issue at practice and Jenkins is still working back from that hamstring everyone saw against St. John's. Yalden missed today because he's also banged up. They're all game to game." You don't have to go into details.

Ahh just another athletic 20 year old coming down with those pesky back spasms. Funny how that happens

I guess the latest check didn’t clear or he was touring another campus

Stop with this nonsense. No one is asking for rosy comments in this season of hell. But there is absolutely no balance in your posts and you simply come off as a troll.

Couldn't agree more. It's silly and annoying to handle things like that.

So you believe he was so badly injured he couldn’t play? Whether my reasons are accurate or not. Simply believing the story given is foolish and to not question it makes you a… especially after what happened last year with our best player and his general soreness

While I believe Shaheen is our only hope to succeed he needs to bear the responsibility of posts like this. When he’s curt and refuses to answer basic questions it leads to nonsense.

The players are paid. If a player misses a game due to discipline just say it. If he misses a game due to personal or family reasons just say it.

He’s not Bill Belicheck, he can’t get away with being coy about that stuff

We just had Toumi stay home for the Xavier game and Sha was clear in the postgame it wasn't over an injury. Maybe is the same, who knows.

As a young player, Coleman is still developing his durability. He faded last year towards the end of the season and missed the final 3 games due to illness. Obviously he had issues in the preseason that led to his slow start and again missed a lot of practice over Winter break.

Like many young players, he needs to devote himself to taking care of his health and gaining overall strength and durability. These are the dog days of the schedule. They had their 2 "bye" weeks early and are now in the middle of a stretch of 10 games in 31 days.

Sha has had a problem communicating with the media about player availability/injuries since he got the job. He gets visibly angry when players are out and doesnt want to talk about it. Always saying "I don't know." Being he is the only person in the Program who communicates to fans and media, that is not an acceptable answer.

There is something off, either he thinks the players are soft or he disagrees with how the trainers and doctors treat injuries. Maybe a bit of both. I've theorized that it may be we are overly playing safe since the Powell lawsuit but it's just a guess. Clearly, talking about player availability angers our HC and he can't hide it.

The 30,000 foot view of this, to me, indicates Sha is fighting to live in a world that once was instead of embracing the world that is. You are correct, saying "I don't know" is not an acceptable answer as the head coach, and the fact he says it all the time lends him little leeway on the matter.

Same goes for the players; they are paid professionals now. If you are hurt, if you are injured, if you have personal matters to attend to, if you are struggling on the court....can't take it personally if it's put out in front of the media anymore. It is officially your job and, accordingly, the paying customers' right to know.

Good point. Sha and the administration need to adapt to the changing environment on the court and off. A lot of coaches struggle when jumping up a level and have to make adjustments to grow. Adapt or the game passes you by.

Like his energy but from a size/skill standpoint he's not a BE center.
Nonsense. He’s has the potential to be a Big East quality center who already uses his body better than anyone else on the team. The fact that our coach can’t relate to these guys is troubling.

I don't see it.Maybe if he loses 20 lbs. and improves his quickness it would show more.

He has shown nothing to indicate that he is close to Big East quality.

There are two, maybe three players on the entire roster who have indicated they are close to BE quality. But only three have 3 years of eligibility left after this year to continue to develop. The first decent screen that any big man on this team sets other than Yeldon will be their first.

yup, typical Seton Hall cryptography. its like they dont want people to care.

the first thought i had with coleman news was that he was making a business decision to not travel to a historically very tough opponent on the road and maintain his high Per Game stats so he can maximize his value in the offseason when he leaves.
