QUEENS, N.Y. (April 18, 2017) – St. John’s University and the BIG EAST Conference will again serve as hosts for the 2020 NCAA Men’s Basketball East Regional at Madison Square Garden as announced Tuesday by the NCAA Selection Committee. Games are scheduled for March 27 and 29, 2020 at “The World’s Most Famous Arena,” the home court of the Red Storm and the site of the BIG EAST Tournament since 1983.

The road to the Final Four runs through The Garden for the third time in seven years. Madison Square Garden will be the final stop in 2020 for one team headed to Atlanta to compete for a national title at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

After a 53-year hiatus, the NCAA Tournament returned to Madison Square Garden in 2014 for the East Regional, which were the first NCAA Tournament games at MSG since 1961. This past March, “The World’s Most Famous Arena” again hosted sellout crowds for the 2017 East Regional. The 2020 NCAA Tournament Regional Final will be the 80th NCAA Tournament game held at Madison Square Garden in its storied history.
