College basketball has changed dramatically in the last few years, and I understand that some will no longer follow the sport. Driven by money it is increasingly difficult for the schools that have limited resources.
However, I fell in love with this game in Jersey City when I first put on my St. Aloysius uniform and with all the current blemishes, I still love it.
Every season I live and die with Pirate basketball and though I wish it was different will financially support the team.
This year I honestly thought would be a complete downer and the ninth-place forecast seemed appropriate. However, few saw the hearts of Sha and the players who did not by into the gloom and doom forecast. They went way beyond the predictions, and I believe deserved a bid to the tournament. It was heartbreaking but Sha and the players showed their mettle and commitment in the last three games.
