it has been discussed other threads, but really, where are the students.

Over the course of a four-year college experience, there are only 40 Big East home games. With the number of students that both live on campus and in the area, it’s a lifetime experience to go to those games. I’m not certain if it’s cost or transportation or like this year, obviously lack of interest. there should be at least several hundred at every game.

To me, this is just symbolic of poor planning and execution by athletic administration. Doing things the old way is just not a recipe for success moving forward. With a couple home games left, hopefully they put some creativity into the thought process and get the students at the games.

Holiday weekend- kids go skiing, home, etc.

Was at a Monmouth game a couple if weeks ago and my Monmouth fan buddy said the students never come. That night , they gave the kids pizza and soda. They saw a great 0T game and students see this as an exciting event. Attendance has been up ever since.

7-18 team...kids have better things to do like $1 beers and pizza at Bunny's Higher ROI

Do students pay for tickets? How about bus ride to the Rock? In the old, old days at not-yet-historic Walsh, tickets were part of activities fee.

I think our basketball team and the Big East has a very significant impact on applications and enrollment.

like stated above WHEN we are good they show up very well if you witnessed during all the latter Williard years, when not good they stay home , teens/younger 20's enjoy excitement and winning , look at St Johns, all of a sudden they sell out MSG the last 15 years they got 1/3 full

As far as I know, 15 years ago, students pay for tickets but not for the bus. Actually fans used to take the bus from South Orange to the game. I think they have stopped allowing non students to ride, but I also think if you attend every game you get the price of the tickets back?

I saw the two most recent Monmouth home games. They had about 20 kids for a Thursday night vs Hampton and close to 100 - tops - for Saturday afternoon vs Towson.

Unless it’s a deeply engrained tradition, it’s hard to get kids to leave their dorms nowadays. The schools which get the turnout are lucky.

People don’t like excuses but it’s not convenient/easy for seton hall students to go to games. At other schools you walk to the field house a few minutes before tip.

These kids have to walk campus an hour+ before tip. 20 minute bus ride to beautiful downtown newark. Games aren’t fun when team is bad. Reverse commute. It’s not exactly an easy sell for the casual student fan.

If you watch games from other conferences, you will be shocked at how many empty seats there are when the teams are not going anywhere. As to SHU I don't believe the kids are doing all that if they believe the team can't or won't compete with the opponent. That has been the vibe for the students and to some extent the fanbase this season.
