Just incredibly sad that it is going to end like that. If somehow a miracle happened and an affluent group or persons endowed the school would the archdiocese go back and reserve the decision?

No one is enrolled, which is kind of the problem. Everyone talks about raising money, but they also couldn't raise enrollment.
That is correct with enrollment as the main part of the problem. With QPHS there was a freshman incoming class of 92 students the year there was a possibility of closing the school. If the report of an enrolled freshman class of 13 for SA is accurate forget it.

The tuition would need to be massively reduced to raise enrollment. That would require a very hefty endowment.

How much could tuition be reduced? Full tuition is only 6k a year. And more than 30% of student get aid.

If there were only 13 students in the freshman class that means they collected like 60k-70k in tuition. For the amount of money they need to keep the doors open you could literally send those 13 students to pingry, the peddie school, delbarton etc. it just doesn't make sense.

That's a tough tuition for most people living in Jersey City.

Kids were not enrolling because of the rumors the school was closing......Hurley said that himself

Were is Saint Peters Prep. H.S. getting its students from at $16,300 tuition per year not including fees? St. Anthony's was a bargain at $6,500. Even a better bargain than QPHS and Paramus Catholic at $9,500.

Many kids from the suburbs go there. Very strong loyalty from alumni. Great academic high school.

Thanks. Goes to my point that STA does not have much of an alumni base and there are no wealthy NBA players from there any longer. Bob already did a book deal and gave everything to the school. Think there are any sales of that book any longer never mind royalties? Maybe the Showtime show will get syndicated to provide a revenue stream to the school. It was game over I am surprised it last this long.

When I was at SPP in the early 60's....the vast majority of kids came from Hudson County.... maybe 70 - 30% split . Now it's probably reversed. Although they have a very strong tuition assistance program that allows local kids and others from surrounding areas whose parents can't afford the tuition to attend. If I'm not mistaken.the annual Gala brings in about 300K towards the scholarship fund.
