Can't have it both ways. Willard has been strongly criticized on this board for his lack of discipline. Now we have an example of discipline meted out properly in my opinion and our coach still angers some.

This is on Desi not Willard. How he responds will dictate the degree of further punishment. It's that simple.

Remember, some people like to bitch just to hear themselves talk. They will complain no matter what. Let coach handle it and accept the fact that no one outside the team knows exactly what is going on (as it should be). That said, I really hope we see Desi against Nova.

Maybe there can be some middle ground where Desi plays but doesn't start? Who knows, maybe Coach is trying to trying to throw off Nova's game plan? That would be cool.

He's killed for not having discipline for 5 years and when he makes a change to hold players accountable he's killed for that.

I wish this could have been kept more quiet. All these quotes on this topic could become a problem down the road. Hope Desi owns up to his mistake and learns from it. If that occurs, we will be fine.

Agree. Did you ever think this is not the first time. There were some issues last year for sure. This team can be successful but anything that might get in the way should be squashed hard as soon as it happens and hopefully Desi and the team has learned from this. Willard is pissed and they better do what he wants and act like a team or they will get to know the bench very well and I'm 100% behind the coach.

Whatever the case, whether you'd consider the punishment appropriate or overkill (if you knew all the details, which you/we don't), Willard is the coach, Desi is the player, and the coach decides when and how much the player plays or the player sits. Given this, my hope is that Desi falls in line and moves on from the incident or incidents or whatever, gets on board with how coach wants his players to act, continues to play well, and helps the team to much success this season.
