being invited to the combined, workouts, summer league would mean they shot up on the draft board. just not high enough for top 60.

their freshman year at shu they were so far off the radar it would be laughable to even mention their names in the same sentence as nba.

so yea the point stands. the point i was also making in response to luka garza is that it goes both ways. some guys have all the accolades and don't move up on the draft board while others get drafted that you don't even know of.

do i think he's going to the nba? no. i just dont think it has anything to do with the luka garza situation.

but you're just here to troll. you mention insight? you haven't posted any insight, comment, even sentence of value in this thread. your last 6/7 posts are just trying to squabble with me. almost as embarrassing as spending an entire day learning what a spread was.

and funny you liked the willard post, as you are his #1 fanboy. doesnt matter that the quote goes against everything you've tried to argue about NIL and just yesterday on laranega. just forget all that
Willard said literally what I’ve said forever

And because I didn’t irrationally hate him because I actually hate the school (like you) doesn’t make me his fanboy

I created a post during the infamous Marquette BET game saying he needed to go and I also posted on the trove in Jan of his finally year he was long gone when it was reported that Maryland might be interested

Dan even told me I was wrong

But you’re right..you have any more locks where I can take the team AND lay those big points (1.5)?!?! Get some real good odds on the vig betting that way!

Didn’t we say the same thing about Willard?
His team is ranked this week. They've played nobody and blew out everyone with maybe the weakest schedule in the country but he's going to bank on high NET and power conference wins. I'm rooting for him down there, hope he does well. Especially since we're so bad.

Anyway, he gave some good answers recently in an interview I saw.

"The coach today, it's more than just a coach. You're spending an enormous amount of time looking at next year's possibilities of getting guys here in the portal and making sure everybody's happy this year," he said. "It's changed dramatically in two years, if you look at what we're doing and what we're going to start spending on [players]."

"You have to be an NBA general manager. You have to look at what you want to do, how you want to play, who you want to bring back, who you want to pay, how much you can pay, how much you have on your salary. And at the same time, you got to be the main fundraiser and go out and raise all that money. So it has changed dramatically and it's a different world."

"And you're going to see, like, Jim Larranaga resigned. I think you're going to see a lot of older guys really start [to retire]. I think we're going to lose a lot of good coaches because it's just something that, it's no longer about building a team, building a culture, building for the long term. You really have to be hyperfocused, especially once March hits. You have to have a game plan for what you want to do [in the transfer portal]. And that's something that I learned last year, as we were struggling last year. It was, you can't wait to try to set up your team."

It Could Be Worse

according to this board laranega must be a horrible coach and the team is nuked because of the last 1.5 years despite E8 and F4 two and three years ago.

maybe its just NIL.
Except for the fact that Laranega has a long long career and actually achieved those things AT THE CURRENT school in a power conference….massive difference

And Laranega has complained about his NIL for 18 months now

FWIW, Garza is on a full NBA contract and has played nearly three times the number of NBA games as Rhoden so the latter would be the more apt comparison.
yea i mean garza is easily the better player even in the nba. but the gap between what one might expect based on their college careers is not that wide.

i dont see rhoden sticking around. if he can't get on the floor in charlotte and detroit then it's not lookin good

NEW YORK – Seton Hall's Jada Eads (Orlando, Fla.) was named BIG EAST Women's Basketball Player of the Week and BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Monday.

It's the second time she's received BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors this season.

With the Pirates down two starters due to injuries, Eads again rose to the occasion in Seton Hall's first BIG EAST road game of the season on Sunday. The freshman collected a career-high in scoring for a fourth-consecutive game, going for 26 points on 10-for-19 shooting, including 3-for-6 from three-point range. Eads also had four steals and three rebounds as Seton Hall defeated Butler, 69-49, in Hinkle Fieldhouse.

Members of the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll include: Creighton's Lauren Jensen, Connecticut's Paige Bueckers, DePaul's Taylor Johnson-Matthews, Georgetown's Kelsey Ransom and Marquette's Halle Vice.

Seton Hall will return to action on Wednesday, Jan. 1 when it heads to Villanova. Tip time is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET. The game will be televised nationally on FS1.

Come on!!!

There is a SHU Athletics tweet that is getting some traction for the wrong reasons and truly shows how feeble the whole Athletic Department is. Instead of taking a screenshot on a phone we have someone taking a picture of a computer screen and posting it about the game tomorrow.

I know its not a big deal, but it is another little thing that just shows we are lost.
