Big Week Ahead

At Georgetown (8-7, 1-3, KP #186) tomorrow night, at Butler (10-5, 1-3, KP #65) Saturday.

At 10-5, 3-1 would be awesome to make this a “metrics week” and somehow get out to 5-1 in the league. Wow. Idk, nothing is easy on the road. We’ll see.

Last year Sha’s team was very good against teams beneath them with that defense (only 1 loss at BET) and hoping same holds this year.

As I see it

1. Connecticut 13-2
When Clingan comes back I can't see anything else but this. Even without him they're probably the best team in conference.

2. Marquette 11-4
Still a very good team but not as good as I originally believed.

3. Creighton 11-4
Might reach #2 or might drop a notch or two.

4. St. John's 11-4
Love him or hate him Pitino is special.

5. Villanova 10-5
Will probably move up when Moore comes back.

6. Seton Hall 10-5
Hey, it my list so shut up. 😁

7. Providence 11-4
Gonna drop without Hopkins

8. Xavier 7-7
They can legitimately be ranked a notch or two higher.

9. Butler 10-5
Just not sold on the Bulldogs moving forward. Three Ls in a row with Marquette on the road next.

10. Georgetown 8-7
Cooley says thank God for DePaul.

11. DePaul 3-11
DePaul has no one to thank God for.

Who ya got

No one expected Butler coming off 3 straight losses to go on the road and beat Marquette. But they did. The question now is how will that W affect their next game vs the Pirates?

Clearly their fans are going to be sky high. Can the Hall come out on top in that environment? Most will say no, but I am going against the grain............

Seton Hall 73
Butler 71

The Top 20 - Marquette

In no particular order

1. It bears repeating again

As goes Dawes so goes the Pirates

In the post game a question was asked of Dawes re his improved play, especially as regards his shooting. Before he was able to respond Richmond, slightly angry blurted out, shooters shoot. That was very uncharacteristic of Kooks, but it showed the respect the players have for each other.

FYI: recruiting

PC just got a commitment from Oswin Erhunmwunse of Putnam Science Academy. 6-10 225, called "one of the most dominant inside defenders in the country." Top 25 on 247. He's class of '25 but likely to reclassify to 2024. He is Nigerian like Godswill who seems to have disappeared from sight. He hasn't been in any box scores going back to November and transfer or injury info is nowhere to be found. I am officially concerned. Does anyone have any information?

Florida State NIL issues

NCAA penalizes FSU football for NIL violations. funny how this comes following FSU actively speaking out against the CFP and NCAA. can’t imagine it’s isolated to them
