Bill Maher is a voice of reason

Right, and you guessed that would translate well into public service based on what?

She had no experience in any public office.
Doesn’t experience matter?
Expeeience managing and leading a Fortune 100 company, with tens of thousands of employees as the first female CEO? Yeah. That ranked pretty high on leadership qualities.

Fiorina was an awful candidate. Might have been a good businesswoman but a political leader she is not.

I agree, her resume is excellent to lead a company. How that translates well to being an effective politician would be a guess.

Also, Carson? While his resume was very strong in the medical field but there was no evidence that would translate to politics at all but was very high up on your list.

All I am saying is what is important to you personally for your vote is not the end all be all.
We all have different opinions and you don't have to pretend you're conclusions are better than anyone else's because being a mayor is a non starter for you. Being a surgeon could have just as easily been a non starter, but it wasn't because you were guessing his success in medicine would make him an effective politician.

I don't recall being high on Carson as a Presidential candidate at all, in fact, I thought he did poorly in the debates and could not articulate his positions. I never said my criteria is the end all, so not sure where you are coming up with that conclusion.

You did. Feel free to revisit your old posts. He was right at the top of your list based on his resume.

It was this part

I don’t like to “guess” about leaders

Because your political opinion crystal ball allows you to have better judgement...
It's always a guess. An educated guess, but it is a guess that the person you support for whatever reason would be a good political leader. Don't have to act like your guesses are superior.

You’re the expert at the search function. I will leave that to you.

It’s less of a guess when someone has a series of accomplishments they can point to over their career. Results. Someone who has demonstrated leadership. Someone that has succeeded at different levels over a period of time. You can certainly prefer a relative unknown, that has done little but sounds good, but that’s a much bigger guess in my book.

what does that mean? is that supposed to condescend the fact he holds people to their own words? must make it hard for those with brittle stances.
I can’t respond to something that makes no sense. Care to elaborate?

lol.. now we're comparing the size of guesses?
ok. You have superior guessing requirements. We can move on.
Nice deflection. Maybe SHU should hire a high school coach that sounds good if Willard moves on, right?

Not ideal, but maybe. Depends on who the other options are. Just like my preference for Buttigieg. Not ideal but I liked him better than my other options.

Also, I recall many posters here over the years wanting Hurly Sr. and Kevin Boyle as head coach. In retrospect, they may have worked out better than Gonzo and Orr.

I think the projected pool of candidates would be much more experienced than a HS Coach.

Gonzo…lol, He beat Florida right? Didn’t I also say leadership qualities have high value? Just because SHU administration made a bad choice doesn’t mean you take a wild guess based on a good interview.
