Collusion

I've already stated what I think about his tax returns and his refusal to release, he's hiding something.

Would you'd agree though that there is also a very good chance we wouldn't be able to glean any detailed info to support the conspiracy theories (yours and others) out there?

Potentially of course. They could raise more questions than they provide answers but at the end of the day... We agree that Trump is trying to hide something.

The significance of that something is problematic. How much does Trump want his returns to remain hidden? What of a bad actor had access to his returns? Is Trump suseptible to blackmail because of the information within?

Why didn’t those same questions apply to prior presidents/presidential candidates? The hypocrisy of the media/the left is appalling.

Honestly, I have never seen any Presidents tax returns. If I saw one, I wouldn't know what to do with it, especially one as complicated as Donald Trumps. The issue here is that unlike his predecessors, President Trump will not release his tax return because he believes the rules don't apply to him. It is just one of many examples. Too many Republicans support him simply because he is not a Democrat. I believe that is a mistake. He cares little for the Conservative agenda and he doesn't care very much for the USA either. He cares only for himself. People who believe otherwise are fooling themselves.

They all provided tax returns. How is it hypocritical to want the same from Trump?

That may be true but we know it wouldn't be criminal. His tax returns were under audit by the IRS and if there was something criminal we would have heard about it.

Your tax records are private and he choose to exercise that right. I can think if a bunch of reasons he chooses to do so.

He is breaking tradition by not releasing them but that's about it.

Y'all keep hoping.

Agree with you. I disagree with you in 2 areas.

1. I have a problem with politicians who care about conservative or liberal agenda, over the USA agenda.

2. I find difficulty in this is you point out Trump as if he's only one who cares about himself. There's a few hundred others that act the same way. Walk in poor, walk out rich by putting country first?

Did Hillary provide the Clinton Foundation tax return or just her personal? If she did not provide the foundation return you can't ask to see Trump's corportate returns. All you can ask for is his personal returns which you may not find one tenth of the information you want.

Those are public and tell you very little.

There’s a lot more to disclose than tax returns, you know what I’m taking about.

Name the last time we have had a president that owned a business which filed bankruptcy 4 times and couldn't get loans from banks within the United States?

While I encourage transparency in all cases, you have to see that this is somewhat unprecedented. We elected someone with the most risk of someone having financial leverage over them, and that president just happens to be the same one fighting the hardest against transparency.

Should the public know, for example, if Trump has been operating at a loss for the last X number of years only propped up by foreign investment?
If the foreign countries attempt to influence US policy with the threat of calling their debts and cutting off funding, what kind of risk does that pose to Trump and his family?

If that answer to those questions is that Trump has been operating at a profit and other lenders would be willing to fund his business activities in the event of default from a state run foreign bank, then great! That is fantastic news... but we should know those answers.

I don't see it as "unprecedented", just another in a long line of untruthful presidents/candidates.

I do not have this problem. I believe in most cases conservative people and politicians believe their agenda is also best for the country. The same applies to liberals. That doesn't make them bad.

The problem is their inability to see the other person's point of view and find common ground. Ideological purity has been a problem in the Republican party for almost 20 years. The Democratic Party seems to be drifting that way as well.

I mean, ok... but it literally meets the definition of unprecedented in that something like that hasn't happened before.

This isn't about a college transcript or something... I don't care about Trump's college transcripts. This is about proper oversight of foreign influence since we know US banks wouldn't lend to Trump.
