Good summary of the effects of the pandemic, especially isolation, on mental health spike, drug abuse and deaths occurring as a result.
this doesnt really show the increase on the average trend id like to see that. id probably wager it was increased even more than normal.

but i do suspect mental health, self harm, suicides, have been increasing by a large rate over the last decade.

weve also done a much larger job of mental health awareness, normalizing treatments, and encouraging people to get tested/treated. its been an insane effort actually. unbranded, non profits, for profits, payers/insurance, HCPs/PCPs, etc have all been promoting for people to stand up and seek help. from big cases to small. its absolutely a reason for the big increase in a lot of those stats. like covid, were simply getting more people tested.

So you don’t agree with the article. Got it.
i dont agree or disagree. its doesnt say enough to seperate it from the overall trend.

doesnt touch on lagging or leading indicators oh which there are probably many.
