Covid Related Precautions For this coming season

Hello. Here's the latest from the Prudential center for devil's games. You need to show proof of vaccination at the door. If you don't have proof, you are required to mask.

My alumni buddies are now using this as a starting point for Seton hall games. We are trying to push for Vaccine requirement and negative test for unvaccinated. Also mandatory masking for all. Right now it it strongly recommend for vaxxed. Required for non vaxxed. Will provide more updates soon! Thanks!

I am very happy the Prudential center is going this route. As you can see from the comments section of that tweet, many people are still worried about attending games this year without restrictions. I hope Seton hall follows through. Many people including me are worried about variants in the coming months. Fauci did even mention today that he sees the pandemic possibly spiraling out of control again this winter.

The university is not going make policies based on what one person may or may not want. What happens when another donor calls and demands the exact opposite? If your “friend” is scared to leave the house then they can stay home and watch the games but they don’t get to dictate what the rest of us do.

You're wrong. Expect an announcement soon.

There are fans who are not going to go if they have to wear a mask and/or show a negative COVID test. There also will be vaccinated folks, like myself, who will be unable to bring our small kids (which we typically do for at least some games) if proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test is required. Which means I'll go to less games. And, frankly, I have absolutely no desire to wear a mask at the game, even more so because I'm vacinnated.

That's fine. You don't have to go to the games if you don't want to wear a mask. We are in the middle of a pandemic and the predictions for this winter don't look pretty. Unfortunately these will be the restrictions in place for the next few seasons. This virus isn't going anywhere! Get used to it!

You’re such a tool. Amazing the energy you put into this.

Why am I tool? Because I am right? Its funny how people thought there would be no restrictions in place for Seton hall games this year. And now they are saying they won't be going because they need to wear a mask on their face.

I don’t want to get used to it. And don’t think I should have to get used to it. If there are restrictions in place, you are correct it’s my choice and I can either abide by them or not go. Personally I don’t want my young kids especially to think it is somehow normal for them to be watching a basketball game with their faces covered. I’ve posted before that I took them to the first night of the BE tourney in 2020, the day before the world shut down, and they still talk about today what a great time they had. That’s the type of experience I want them to get from live sports. Not one where they can’t talk to people, interact with people or see facial reactions.

You don't get it. We are in a pandemic. We need these restrictions in place or other variants will begin to emerge. But that will happen already because not enough people have taken the jab. It is unfortunate how this pandemic has been politicized and as a result of that there is no way lot for the next few years.

Wrong. I do get it. I've been vaccinated, as has my wife. I've adhered to any and all restrictions, including masks, whenever required. As have my kids, including for things like youth sports where the "rules" are comical at times. That doesn't mean I like it or think it is normal. It is not. Nor does it mean I have to make my kids experience attending a live sporting event with half their face covered, when the whole point of going at their age is so they can have a fun experience, interacting with fans and friends, seeing people's reactions, gaging their reactions and the like.

I doubt you know anyone outside of your Section 8 neighbors. If you do, they're not donors of any consequence to SHU. Where is the petition? Maybe some here would like to sign on. Where is the article on the citizen of the year award?

How wrong you are. You will see in the coming days.

Enough people, at least in NJ, have taken the jab. People are still getting COVID. It IS here to stay, that much is correct. That said, if you're vaccinated, you should be able to attend a game in an arena without masking.

No that's not correct. Most NJ counties are at high risk. Even vaccinated people have to mask up in indoors settings. Unfortunately We are passed the point of the vaccines saving us from this pandemic. The variants will haunt us for years. Therefore we will have to follow these restrictions for years based on the decisions made by the unvaccinated.

The unvaccinated have nothing to do with the variants.

Simple answer, of your 2300 posts, probably 2100 of them have been on this board about covid and your insistence that we should bow to your brilliance. Tool, loser, sad individual, there are a number of ways to describe the behavior. Meanwhile, I'll continue living my life.

If you're totally serious, you're mentally ill. If this is all a joke, well, you're mentally ill. Seek help.

I thought the theory was that as the someone gets infected and the virus replicates, there is a (albeit small) chance of mutation in that copy which goes on to infect someone else. Wouldn't there be a higher percentage chance mutation be in those who have a greater chance of being infected?

Is that not the correct way to view that?

There are many ways a virus can mutate during the replication process. Those who are vaccinated and unvaccinated are equally likely to be infected by a mutated "copy."

Right, but the vaccine helps prevent infection in the first place, so it would be less likely to happen in a vaccinated individual.

Meaning the more people who are vaccinated, the chances that a more dangerous variant is established goes down.

Its funny how people think this pandemic is over. 200 students in a NJ school had to quarantine after a school dance. Covid outbreak at the dance. Imagine if someone reports they tested positive after being at a Seton hall game. These games could be melting pots for outbreaks this year and possibly support the spread of a new variant.

Pandemic is OVER for vaccinated people. Your posts are getting old.

Your posts are getting very old. You don't even respond when you're wrong. Any comment on your post where you said their would be no restrictions at the Prudential Center?

Watching the Devils game and it looks like 2019 to me. No one with masks. You must be disappointed that people are living their lives.

Showing proof of vaccination at the entrance is like 2019 to you? Interesting

You really think they checked every person? If you’ve been to the rock then you know it’s notorious for long lines to enter the arena. Add this to the process and it will be chaos.

Unless things change, they were not checking vaccination status at Devils exhibition games.

Believe it is on honor system, unvaccinated are required to wear masks.

Did you watch the pregame? The line was the longest I ever saw at the rock. They literally showed security reviewing proof of vaccine

Yes they did change. Vaccination requirement didn't apply for exhibition games. The new Prudential center mandates were announced a few days ago

You must have not watched the pregame. They were talking about the longer lines and video coverage of security reviewing proof of vaccination at the door. You also have to show proof as you show your tickets to walk down to your seat as well.

You missed my point. 16k in an indoor arena where 90%+ of the fans were not wearing masks as it should be. Since you're still chiming in after pledging to be quiet, where are we on these "negotiations"? You still haven't shown us the petition. I'm calling BS.
