We are now seeing temperatures in Europe that we have never seen before. 108 degrees in London yesterday. And some of you on this board don't think global warming is real lol

So what? It's July, the hottest month of the year in the northern hemisphere.

As Nobel prize winner Dr Casey said there is some warming ,but we can’t do anything about it So give your money to medical research.

Lol, we're all going die!! Panic! Panic!
it might be a tad concerning. maybe youd feel different if you had children, or the prospect of children. or can remotely digest a concept that isnt coming from the political right.

family in connecticut is told they have to ration their water because theres a shortage. sooner than later it will be food supply. pretty normal i guess.

The same people that dismiss climate change would throw a hissy fit that the world governments had no plan if they had to ration food because of climate change. The irony.

On a sidenote, he may be doing the world a favor by not reproducing.

Why is it concerning? You can't change the weather or the climate.

Why does it matter if you have kids or not? My opinion would be no different whether I had 4 kids or none.

Climate is changing, and we should be good stewards of the planet. But the dog whistling (see Bernie’s latest rant about Mancin) is comical. Leaders lead…where is the political and those with money and power acting responsibly? They’re not. Limos, mega mansions, private jets, multi million dollar beach houses on LBI. The world is going to end in 12 years….lol

I’m going to follow these clowns? Keep living by your MSM talking points.

Highest temp in UK recorded history. It’s not like it’s an annual fluctuation here.

Again, so what? Anomalies have happened for eons. It's why they're called records. Made to be broken.

It's funny how we only hear from the alarmists when it's extreme heat. Remember the ice box Texas was in two winters ago? That was an anomaly too. It happens.

says the man without kids who doesnt think its even a little concerning. has nothing to do with whats causing it

Whether you believe it or not why would anyone not try to do the right things to protect the planet we live on. Hard to watch our leaders who have multiple 5,000 square foot homes tell you how you should live when they have absolutely no plans to change the way they are living. Leading by example is a thing of the past. They are simply to busy saving the world to change there own way of life. Hard to watch the secretary of transportation with an Ivy League education with no idea where we will get the electricity to charge electric cars. Selling a concept without a plan to execute it, who does this? In order to be serious about our environment we need to take the politics out of it. Hybrid cars are the way to go, scooters, how about smaller cars? Our cars are way to big plain and simple.

Exactly. Energy and the environment requires long-term planning and execution. Depending on elections changing the strategy every two years based on the whims of a bunch of idiots is not a winning strategy.

It’s not an anomaly when it’s occurring on a trend line.

Yes alarmists said it would change weather patterns which will create more extreme weather events like higher highs and lower lows.

I get it. You’re convinced man is playing a small role in climate change and you don’t think there is anything we can (or should) do to course correct.

You’re just not really leaving any room for the possibility that you’re wrong.

This is what you get when you put people in charge who have never run anything successfully. It’s like going to a business school and being taught how to run a business by a professor who never ran a business. Elon Musk who makes electric cars and would love electric cars in every garage, tells you we simply do not have the resources to go electric and you don’t listen? How stupid can people be.
Why not mandate no car can be built over 10 feet long, no more 6 or 8 cyclinder cars. You would need to apply for a variance and pay extra for large delivery vehicles and commercial trucks. Makes too much sense right? These simple changes would reduce our fossil fuel consumption By 20%. Look around at the vehicles people are driving, this isn’t rocket science. More metal, bigger tires, equals less mpg. Count the number of giant SUV’s on the GSP with one person driving. How about tax advantages for cars getting 25 to 30 mpg or more. Face it our leaders are idiots both sides.

Add to the fact that the people that drive these huge SUV are the biggest complainers of gas prices .

Really? I think it’s those where gas prices are severely hampered by other life decisions. Some that know they get 13 miles to the gallon made that decision and while this is a nuisance, it’s just as much of a nuisance as is $5 milk or dozen eggs.

Sorry. A lot of what you're saying here just isn't true.

It is true that if we forced every American to purchase an electric car today and made gas cars illegal - It could be a problem for our energy capacity... but that's not happening.

Even ignoring other sources, if we keep producing more energy from renewable sources alone at the same rate we have been for the next 20-30 years. That alone would be enough for enough capacity for all Americans to drive an eclectic car and charge at the same exact time.

Americans want their freedom. People flipped out when we tried to ban incandescent light bulbs and you think we can just ban 6 or 8 cylinder SUVs though? No one wants to live in a society where government reduces your choices. We just need the option that is better for us to also be better for our wallets, the economy and the environment in that order.

Also, there are tax advantages to higher MPG.
If you get 30 mpg and drive 12,000 miles you will pay about $170 in gas tax in a year in NJ.
If you get 15 mpg you will pay $340.

Many federal and state incentives for hybrids and EV's over the last 15 years as well.

I believe the earth warms and cools naturally over millions of years. Currently, we may be in a warming cycle. The difference is we now have arrogant and entitled human beings who can't cope with the fact that nature may overtake their multi-million dollar home on the ocean.

We've covered this before. There are usually causes of warming / cooling trends when they occur. Whether it be a meteor hitting the earth, solar radiation levels, volcanic activity etc...

I'm just not sure why you're so convinced that human activity can't be the cause of the current trend.

The difference is we now have arrogant and entitled human beings

Well that part is true.
Arrogant human beings that think they can treat the earth however they want and they won't harm the planet (or don't care that they will) for future generations.

Warming/cooling trends aren't due only to those factors. They also occur naturally, such as the ice age.

Didn't say only... but there was always a catalyst.

It's not like the earth just entered an ice age because it was due for one. There was a reason for the change in the climate at the time. Whether it was one of those factors I listed or many other possibilities at the time, there was a reason.

Again, I'm just not sure why you are convinced human activity can't possibly be a reason for the next climate shift.

Im sure he thinks PFAs and microplastics in water is a big conspiracy as well. Those damn libs!

Not true. The causes of the ice age were all naturally occurring.

Absolutely true. There is always a catalyst.
Maybe a naturally occurring shift in the earths rotation, a naturally occurring meteor striking the earth, naturally occurring solar activity, naturally occurring volcanic activity.... etc etc etc...

Yes, all of those are naturally occurring catalysts which can change the climate on earth.

That does not mean that human activity can not be the catalyst this time.

Answer the question.
why is it concerning? water shortages, food supply issues, ecosystem issues on/off shore.

does it matter if its man made or not? man is definitely speeding up a lot of these factors. especially the environmental ones

That's what I said. Naturally occuring.

Doesn't matter if it's man made or not, there's nothing we can do about it.

There is a lot we can do. I'm honestly more concerned about overcorrecting though.

What can we do aside from moving away from the coasts? That's what makes people angry - because the elite/political class will have to give up their fancy homes and they don't want to adapt. It's not about protecting the planet - it's about the bottom line of those who hold power and make the laws.

It depends.

There are ways we can cool the earth down like releasing particles into the atmosphere which will limit the amount of radiation that hits the planet. Volcanic eruptions accomplish that a little on their own. We would basically mimic what ash would accomplish from a gigantic eruption.

I think that is something we would end up with if the warming trends continue and any efforts to lessen our impact fail.

For now, we should keep working towards getting more and more of our energy needs from renewable sources and try to limit how much damage we are doing.

theres nothing you can do about the economy so i guess youre not concerned over that either. you cant really change china becoming #1 superpower but i bet you still avoid buying their products when you can. same thing.

Inflation will go down as Fed raises rates so we can do things to correct the current runaway inflation, but as Dr Casey said can’t do anything to make it cooler ,Mother Nature is a strong willed mother who creates warm and cold as she sees fit.

firsr off the govt can do something, if thats all of a sudden what youre changing the argument to.

what about the environment as a whole? water supply, food supply, ecosystem depletion, etc.
