Global Warming: Extreme Heat In Europe

No one is saying that everything you do must be what is best for the planet.

We are saying that while we are here... we should treat the planet well and limit our impact when we can.
So we get to pick and choose? Or does Nancy get to pick and the rest of us just get in line and follow so her hubby can make more good stock picks? We're talking about major planet disaster in decades but we get to pick and choose what things we want to limit our impact and others we'll just ignore. Great. I got it now. If this is the biggest danger to our planet and it's a real danger I would hope we're more aggressive. If it's as serious as people make it out to be we wouldn't be able to just limit our impact when we can. Are we going to limit our impact when we can then one day shit hits the fan and we have to take drastic measures? Is that the plan? Yikes.

So you accept the experts words that the drought would of occured, but not their conclusion that human activites caused the drought to be worse?

That makes alot of sense.
Sort of. I just find it amusing that people are hanging their hats on a drought as proof of global warming when the so-called expert they cite as authority actually says it would’ve occurred regardless of man.

I’m still trying to figure out what they want. The green new deal? Something else? They want to avoid this existential threat but I’m waiting for anyone on this thread to say “this is what I want”.

I don't care what they want because the whole approach is a joke. For a crisis it just seems like a lack of attacking a problem. Everything we do isn't important just do what we can when we can. Great. I'm just hoping we get rid of plastic gatorade bottles and bring back the old glass bottles.

Yes. We pick and choose.
we pick the things to make investments in which will provide jobs, not hurt our economy and help us transition into a future where we will no longer need fossil fuels for electricity.

We don’t pick the things that will hurt our economy, and the livelihood of our citizens.

We pick and choose now because we have time. If we ru. Out of time and shit hits the fan, then yes… we will not have the luxury of picking and choosing.

I am still waiting for the guy to share some stats on the greenhouse gases created from roads versus combustible engines. I wont hold my breath though.

Thank you Captain Obvious.
You are free to pick and choose what investments you would like to make as I will do the same.

You don’t get to pick and choose my investments, nor does any politician.

And that’s the problem. They don’t have a clue and it’s all about greed. No thank you.

Politicians don’t get to pick our energy policy because you said no thank you? Neat.
Because they have proven to suck at it. When they start acting like adults maybe I’ll pay attention. Until then, I’m going to ignore their recommendations.

Perfect, now we're using statistics, so between 4-8%. Now compare to cars + trucks which is around 29% according to the EPA.

Which is the bigger contributor to CO2?

We can't get rid of roads or we'd have no transportation, but we can transport people + goods using cleaner energy while also tackling a bigger chunk of the Co2 emissions.

With that said, I am positive that technology will evolve in the future with materials for roads as well.

up to 8% is just concrete. Only 60% of Interstate highways are concrete. One more time up to 8% for JUST concrete. Asphalt also contributes to roads. What if asphalt gives off equal emissions as concerete. When all said and done roads could contribute 15%. That's not immaterial to the coversation. So i have to wonder why aren’t roads part of the big picture conversation? Is the conversation about doing what's best for the planet or only worrying about the biggest CO2 emissions? Or maybe we only care about the biggest. If we only worry about the biggest, the USA doesn't even have to be part of this because we should only worry about the biggest pollution country in the world China. I'll counter your which is bigger question with China or the USA when it comes to pollution? Or do we pick and choose when we want to worry about which is a bigger contributor to the problem?

interesting read on asphalt

Climate alarmists in US can’t acknowledge that US emissions have been trending downward and now represents about 13% of global emissions.Their lectures should be directed to China and India the two largest emitters Even if you believe the direct link between emissions and temperature ( a debatable conclusion at best ) unless China and India follow US example nothing will change as even climate nut job John Kerry has acknowledged So keep cheering for Greta and feel morally superior and accomplish making the US go broke on green energy but not affect global emissions and then you will be saying we didn’t know that was going to happen.Unfortunately some of us d know but majority rules.

SO spend trillions of dollars in a panic mode on Green new Deal initiatives and after all is said and done, no one can estimate the impact. I guess ROI is NOT part of the equation. Contrary to what we are being fed, the science is NOT in.

Al Gore is a successful grifter that has yet to get a prediction right.
