my meteorlogist friend says humans are 1000% impacting climate change in a highly accelerated negative direction. all those absurd weather extremes happening are a direct result. not on the million year natural cycle. not only do i believe him, its just common sense.

does anyone here clean their home? why? ever seen the show hoarders? what happens to those homes?

really makes no sense to deny or oppose anything that helps make the world better. unless they know how to make mars better and we can go there

What was the situation in, say, 1995? Dire then?

Wouldn’t say dire then, not sure I’d say dire now either.

The idea is that we are on a trajectory which some expect will become dire at some point in the future, and the more we do now, the less dire that future becomes.

Correct. If things keep going the way there going (and I've seen no evidence to suggest they won't), we are f-ed. Don't get hung up on who or what is at "fault." Focus on what the hell we (the royal, since what the average individual does is insignificant) can do to try to change and then reverse the harmful trajectories.

Extreme weather has happened for millennia. That's the nature of nature.

Read what former AccuWeather meteorologist Joe Bastardi has to say about "global warming." It's insightful.

In 2011 Bastardi predicted based on his satellite data that global temperatures would decrease by 0.2 degrees Celsius over the next 10 years.

It’s ten years later now and global temperatures increased by 0.5 degrees Celsius.

Maybe not the best guy to follow on the topic.

Haha, this is the worst group of people to discuss climate change with because there is no way they would be receptive to it.

When these posters don't care about others or future generations in all of their posts, its usually a non starter...look at limiting school shootings, nothing bc they didn't have kids in those schools.

The mention of getting the vaccine to HELP OTHERS, never even comes up in their comments for the few that got vaccinated, its all about me me me...we have lots of selfish people out there. For them to care about the environment that may not affect them greatly in their lifetime, its a stretch to get them on board.

Only a catastrophic event that directly affects them may get them on board but even then they may not. They will blame it on illegals or taking away their rights.

Yeah you summed it up perfect. Its scary most of them are Catholic too.

No surprise here. More attacks. Nothing else to add.

It's not an attack, it's simply an observation that most of you are Catholic and yet most have no interest in doing anything unless it benefits them. Grow some thicker skin my man.

The point of getting a vaccine isn't to help others. It's to protect yourself. Vaccination doesn't eliminate transmission.

Oh great Swami, other than shu09, who here has NOT gotten vaccinated?

Incorrect.

Correct. Vaccines don't "eliminate" transmission. Vaccines reduce transmission.

The more people participate in that reduction, the better off we will be.

So you take the tetanus vaccine to help others? That's news to me.

It also hasn't been proven that they reduce transmission. Vaccinated people are still getting the virus and passing it along.

Well.. I received the Tdap vaccine which protects tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis. Two of which are contagious... so yes? I received THAT vaccine to help others.

I also received the Covid vaccine to help others as my personal risk is fairly low.

Wrong.

Unvaccinated people are three times more likely to get infected when exposed and 25 times more likely to be hospitalized.

Literally just got TDAP for upcoming baby. 09 knows nothing.

So what? That doesn't refute anything I said. True or false: Vaccinated people are still getting the virus and passing it on.

Perhaps if the climate hysterics hadn't been so wrong so much we could take them seriously.

Do seatbelts eliminate car accident deaths, or reduce them?
Do condoms eliminate the possibility of pregnancy or reduce it?

The concept is reduction, not elimination.

Well there are others, 4 ppl besides shu09 from the poll (5 total unvaccinated). Which isn’t bad considering where we started and with some of the viewpoints highlighted frequently here. I’m actually impressed and happy by the 80+ % that are vaccinated.

You missed the key words. They got vaccinated….AND they used one of the reasons they did it to help OTHERS. Most people said “after talking to doctor, it was the best choice for me”, “so I don’t have to wear those damn masks”, “it’s better for me traveling,” “or I’m in an at risk group”. I will admit a few did say I have an at risk person in my family or for my kids. But not too many here said, I did it to help my community, mankind, future mutation of variant, even though they weren’t at risk severe disease themselves. Not many got vaccinated more about the potential to get other sick then caring if,they got sick themselves.

Lol. You're the one who struggles. Answer the question.

Already answered it.

“Unvaccinated people are three times more likely to get infected when exposed and 25 times more likely to be hospitalized,”

I did not vote in the poll.

Are you really that dense? That fact has nothing to do with my question.

True or false: Vaccinated people can acquire and spread the virus.

True or false: Vaccinated folks are still acquiring the virus and passing it on.

True. You still don't get the concept though.

Thank you. At least you have the balls to answer the question, unlike kniespolice.

Haha. You said vaccinated doesnt reduce transmission which is just false. Vaccinated people get the virus at a much lower rate, which reduce transmission. You are dense.
