Holloway & Copeland in Handshake Line

Most important thing in this new NIL world is that Sha has to be conscious of the SHU brand and him being a critical piece. If Mike McBride, is trying to negotiate a corporate sponsorship of some kind, this doesn’t help.

It's not the first time it's happened. Sha got into it with Sean Miller after the game with X at Prudential last season.

Maybe not a big deal but not a good look either. Say your piece, hear the other guy out and move on. By making it more physically obvious, you create a situation ripe for overreaction.

This will be forgotten about in a week as long as it stays an isolated incident. Problem is, if Sha does anything similar in the future it will be hard to give him the benefit of the doubt.

In a time where we have members of congress kidney punching each other and challenging one and another to fist fights, you think this is a big deal. so it shouldn't have happened, big deal,,, it did.. Let's not once again take this holier-than -thou attitude. No one knows what the conversation was and someone else said it, in a week nobody will care. All I see is passion and fight and if he and his team can carry that into March, it will be a fun year.

Your opinion.....if Pitino, Miller, or Shaka threw Sha's hand like that how many posts would there be about how big of scumbags they are?
And that would be an overreaction also…. It’s a bad look but it’s not that big of a deal…. Holloway has to calm himself down. Suspension though is overreacting… and that’s right it’s my opinion

Maybe forget the big brother thing here. It’s condescending. Copeland is a peer, a legit D1 coach.
Speaking of condescension, this reminds me of when Sha said repeatedly that the charity exhibition was NJIT's Super Bowl. Insulting and not even true. Does he think that NJIT isn't a Division One program or something?

No suspensions, for sure. The matter is over, but Shaneen looked like a punk this afternoon.

It would be easier to forget if this hadn't happened once last year. It's tougher now to paint it as an isolated incident.

It's not necessarily a big deal but whatever it was shouldn't have gotten to the point that both coaches had to apologize publicly.

Did Copeland really have to press after the starters came out? What Holloway did was foolish but when he took out the starters there was no need to continue to press and chippy shot a Frosh! Maybe next year Sha keeps his first team in longer

If you’re going to preach never give up, keep fighting, and create that kind of culture for next 4 months. how do you call off the dogs if you’re DC?

Also if you’re Sha, you gotta get the young guys time when you can. Very possible they see limited minutes the next 10 days until we play northeastern. Up 20 I gotta believe Sha wants to get them minutes more than he wants to add to KR’s stats.

Both coaches need to do what’s best for their own team.

I don’t like it. Very close to escalating. Got to have more control. Both of them. Love when a coach has fire, but not there.

I watched it over again. This is on Sha. Has to be better.

Ok I was at the game. Admittedly was walking out for the last 45 seconds or so.

But what exactly transpired that is causing this reaction?

If it was a case of “Seton Hall left their starters out too long” or “Seton Hall pressed when up by x points”… that I didn’t see.

So maybe there was some other activity going on…but I didn’t see anything of note

And that talking point has been adopted by some fans on this board, for example. Fact of the matter is, his words and actions matter as the leader of the program.

I think you and everyone are right since it was not a conference game it will be no big deal. But if it was a conference game Val has to do something and if it was any pro league there are fines on both coaches.

I didn't think you blame a team for playing hard to the final whistle.

Are we really acting like our bench players can't handle an NEC team for a few minutes?

Jesus relax people. Sha said something, reacted to cope, pushed his hand away. Sports gets heated at times. Its a big nothing. Im sure their bosses will say something to them and itll be over. Nobody will remember it in a week
Yep. Bunch of pearl clutchers in this forum. Not unexpected with the average age of the fan base/posters…

Perception vs reality...sha had a bad moment..that is reality...sites like outkick and ny post will sensationalize the hell out of this to make it more than it was, as adam zagoria also did in his carrington article

The media must be bored and eating it alive. I was wondering what took so long while cheering the players walking into the corridor. Sad to see that happen on the videos between the two former players. At least they heartfully apologized and moving on, it's over, don't do it again. I'm just keeping my hope alive for the upcoming game against SC.

Remember when the kid from Monmouth stole the ball with seconds left against Kansas and went for a dunk…did bill self didn’t shove king rice. Have no problem with Copeland pressing till the end of the game. It’s a long season and gives him an opportunity for a lot of lessons/confidence for his guys to build from in a loss

The comparison to things going on in Congress is irrelevant and absurd.

There was a hard foul against Ozdogan and Copeland played his guys to the final whistle, even though the game was well out of reach. Sha took offense to it and then came the altercation with Copeland after the game.
