Holloway & Copeland in Handshake Line

Our subs need to see a press, not a weak defense that doesn’t challenge them to get better. Sha apologized directly to Copeland so he knew it was on him and he delt with it immediately. Sha needs to calm down and if he’s going to react it’s got to be a much, much bigger issue. You can’t go through life making mountains out of molehills.

I can also see shaheens frustration with the amount of injuries hes had to deal with the past 2 seasons. Hes prob saying why risk anymore injuries in a 20 pt blowout. But i alao see copes side.

When you’re a head coach in the Big East or at any school in any Conference you job is far more then coaching basketball. Your job includes avoiding any actions that reflect negatively on the school and your program especially when it involves the head coach.I hope that the appropriate person in the administration gets in Sha’s ear and we don’t see a repeat.

Chiming in late here, but the reaction by Sha was not good. He should have taken the high road even though it appeared Copeland said something to him that he didn’t like.

But let’s face it; Shaheen had an edge to him. I’d say 50% of the time it’s likely he’s not always going to say the best thing for at the right moment in certain situations. Good news he did say the right thing in the post game presser.

It’s over, hopefully everyone learns from it. Let’s move on and hopefully win a couple of games in San Diego.

Info on the Trove.

For those not members read Jerry Carino. His take is similar to mine with the wording slightly different.

Jerry wrote well of this incident. Sadly, this is seen widely:

50 people who read fox news online will actually click on it. They care more about politics. It's 1.1 seasons into the Sha tenure and we have 2 incidents at the handshake line. Thankfully nobody did their research and wanted to use Sha's own words against him from last year how it will never happen again. It took less than 10 games to happen again.

Something that no one has mentioned yet but that I think plays into it is the fact that Sha and Donald are friends, fellow Pirates and probably know each other better than most coaches do. There are things you’ll say or do with friends or siblings you wouldn’t think of doing with strangers or acquaintances. It’s just a different relationship so your reactions will be a lot different.

You got to take the good with the bad with Sha. The good is he's genuine the bad is he's genuine.

For anybody that really paid attention to what he said post game really sums up the respect he has for Copeland as well as other alums.

Mentioning how he feels that it's all the alums program just as much as his program goes a long way in my book on his character.

You fight with your brothers the worst but at the end of the day you know they had each others back and it showed with the post game quotes.

Problem is what happens in the family happens behind closed doors. It's not for the world to see. They could go behind closed doors and use fists, I don't care, but don't do it in public.

100% thats why I said you you got to take the good with the bad.

Its totally a bad look as well, but I think he's earned the right for us to allow him to grow.

If you take the fire out of him you take away what makes him loved.

Don't care if he's loved or not. Get us playing meaningful games every March.

I dont agree. I think you can remain true to yourself while trying to stop doing the things you do that embarass you.

It was a bad look. It had no merit. And being mad cause the other team didn't give your subs a break is frankly ridiculous.

If shaka has MQ pressing when we are playing our walkons, that is not ok. Nothing cope did was not ok. I dont see how it could bother sha. What cope did was GOOD for us.

If Shaka is pressing down 20, I still have no problem. Just because we decide to put our walkons in doesn't mean the opponent has to. If he's pressing up 20 late in the game that's different. But if Shaka decides to put his walk ons in, doesn't mean we have to do the same.

I'm actually trying to figure out why Cope apologized to his guys. Makes no sense to me. Sorry for having you compete for 40 minutes. It's ok coach we won't do it again.

Because he is demonstrating accountability. How often do we here the excuse of "it wasn't me, I was there but wasn't doing anything". He is teaching his young man to be better, present better, and be accountable. Letting all the blame lay at Holloway's feet isn't the right message to send.

Standing up for his team playing hard for 40 minutes is something to apologize for these days? What a wonderful world.

Imagine Mike McBride trying to close a corporate NIL sponsorship. This doesn’t help.
You think some corporate big wig is going to sit in his office and say “gee, what was coach Shaheen doing against Wagner, everybody in the office was horrified and needed a personal day”. You guys are RIDICULOUS

Do you think corporation is going to invest in the SHU “brand” if a coach can’t keep his cool?

Wait a minute: Our walk-ons didn't get into the game at all [did they]? I didn't think so, and they don't appear in the box score. Odgodan is a scholarship kid.

You obviously don’t get it.. the people that would make those decisions have ZEEO CLUE we played a game yesterday. They look at tickets sales and similar

No our walkons never played WHICH IS WHY i think sha had no reason to whine. Our bench guys had the chance to play against real d1 pressure. Tons more valuable than typical end of game minutes.

It cope or another coach pressed our walkons than maybe sha had a case imo.
