Chris Christie: “Mr. Wilpon, my number, you’ve got it.”
This morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Chris Christie joked that he would leave his current job as Governor of New Jersey to run his favorite team, the Mets:
“When pitchers and catchers report, I’m in physical pain. Mr. Wilpon, my number, you’ve got it, give me a call. General Manager Christie? Let me tell you something, the people of New Jersey, I have to go, I’ve been offered the General Manager position of the Mets and it’s time for me to move on.”
Christie was born in Newark, New Jersey, where he grew up a Mets fan.
