This will be year six of the Echeverry tenure and it should provide Lyons with more then enough information to make a decision on whether he's the right person to bring the program back to prominence or he isn't.

How much more does Lyons need? Also, that OOC schedule is a joke. No reason a big east team should not be over .500 in the OOC, and this team won't be. Schedule is bad which isn't surprising because big time programs get nothing from playing SHU. It's sad that Delaware throws is a bone and plays them because of the coach, and SHU has lost 9 straight times to Princeton????? You have got to be kidding me. The first game of my freshman year we played the second ranked team in the nation. It's depressing how far this program has fallen and it never should have happened.

In the range of 15 or so years ago shu would play a Penn State, get to go out west and face two good west coast programs this program has dipped

I asked myself the same question after last year's 4-10-2 record and 2-5-1 in Conference record but Lyons did bring him back for this year so we'll have to wait and see what happens.

St. Peter's, Princeton are Main stays on the schedule, and both have had years where they have been good even very good. But really you just have Princeton and Delaware, the rest of that schedule is SOFT. Other than Delaware and Princeton they should not lose to another one of those teams, and really they should never lose to Princeton.

But the program has gone down so much that no decent high major program will play SHU because it serves no purpose for them. They get nothing out of playing SHU, the win won't look good for them because of how bad Seton Hall has been, and if by chance they lose or even tie it looks worse.

I think what is especially telling is how little success this program has had in signing the better NJ players .
In all honesty, even under Manny SHU wouldn't usually get many of the top players in NJ. They would usually go out of state or to Rutgers. The one that stands out to me is the Kid a few years back from West Orange who was the national player of the year who never lived up to expectations. But usually he'd get a few players from NJ, usually never the top players, But Manny has so many connections across the country, even the world that he would get players from all over. Most pure talent I saw was a player from Kearny I think his name was Fausto, so talented, a few years under Manny he could have been an All American. Summer after Freshman year he went to the Dominican Republic for training and ended up playing in some league which ended up being a pro league and he lost all eligibility. He was good
