90 years old. Not too shabby. Supposedly died overnight in his sleep while in the Bahamas. Although he had a myriad of health issues later in life, I gotta say going in your sleep doesn't sound so bad.

Anyway, definitely my favorite Bond. I like all the others to varying degrees(even Lazenby), but it's not even close with Connery as 007. He was Bond, the others were just trying to catch up. It probably also had something to do with the era his films were made in. It just all came together better during those early Cold War spy flicks.

Loved him in numerous other films besides Bond(Hunt For Red October, The Untouchables, The Last Crusade, Marnie, The Rock etc.), but Bond is/was one of my cinematic true loves. That said, even if you take out all the Bond work he did, he still had an amazing career. Wish we could have seen a few more films in his later years, but his absence/retirement was understandable.

Rest In Peace to a great actor who had an outstanding career and whose portrayal of an iconic character(that he made iconic) captured the imagination of and entertained millions of people.

I was shocked that his last role was 2003 and that he was 90.

RIP, while known for James Bond had a stretch of 3 films in early 90s that are underrated

The Hunt for Red October
Medicine Man
Rising Sun

Well, I don't think his age is all that shocking when you consider Dr. No was released nearly sixty years ago(or did you think he was older?). You're right though, despite his age, he did not seem to carry himself like a ninety year old.

Apparently that movie he did in 2003, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, really did a number on him. He made no secret that he was miserable while filming it, and displeased with the film itself. He immediately vowed to retire and, other than some voice work, pretty much stuck to it. The movie must have really taken a toll on him. I myself never saw it.

I think he also had a broken heart for not accepting the role of Gandalf in Peter Jackson's LOTR movies. That was a BIG mistake. His career would have ended on a significantly better note, and I think he was probably kicking himself a little for that one.

More so because I wonder where the last 10 years went...
