• Winners of eight of its last 11 games, the Seton Hall men’s basketball team hits the road this weekend as the Pirates get set to take on Villanova at Wells Fargo Center on Saturday at 8 p.m. on FS1.
• After starting 0-3 in BIG EAST play, the Pirates sit in a tie for fifth place in the conference standings at 8-6 with six games to play.
• Seton Hall has played one of the most difficult schedules in the country as KenPom ranks the Pirates’ slate as the 15th toughest in Division I and its NET SOS ranks 22nd.
• The Pirates have put themselves in good position because of how they’ve played on the road as The Hall is one of three BIG EAST schools with five road wins, joining Marquette and Xavier.
• Of the 76 men’s college basketball teams in the major conferences, only three have won their last three road games through Thursday’s games: Seton Hall (4), Kentucky (3) and Pitt (3).
• Any kind of success that Seton Hall has starts with its defense, which leads the BIG EAST in scoring defense (64 ppg) and ranks second in field goal percentage defense (41.1 pct) and three-point defense (30.6 pct).
• The Pirates’ field goal defense ranks 50th in the country and its three-point defense ranks 35th.
• The Hall ranks second in BIG EAST games allowing 34.4 points after halftime.
• Seton Hall has held five opponents to under 50 points this season, its most since 1951-52 (7).

• The Hall is 146-22 (.870) since 2015-16 when its lead gets to seven points.
• In Holloway’s last 36 games as a head coach, his teams have allowed just 62.5 points per game and only 11 opponents have scored more than 70 points.
• Graduate student KC Ndefo (Elmont, N.Y.) is the anchor of Seton Hall’s defense and he’s the NCAA’s active leader in career blocks with 361.
• Ndefo leads the BIG EAST and ranks 22nd nationally with 51 total blocks this season.
• Junior Kadary Richmond (Brooklyn, N.Y.) leads the Pirates in rebounding (6.1 rpg) and assists (4.6) in BIG EAST play and ranks second in scoring (12.6 ppg).
• Richmond has scored in double figures in each of the last seven games.
• Senior Al-Amir Dawes (Newark, N.J.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Monday and is averaging 17.3 ppg on 50 percent shooting from deep (11-of-22) over his last three games.
• The Pirates are 13-4 when Dawes scores in double figures.
