When your level of hubris is as high as the sky, it's a long way back down to the ground in moments like this.
That’s a shame.
Look, for the look of the league, I’m disappointed. I also had them in the title game (against my better judgement; I know they can’t shoot), so that sucks, too. But the sense of entitlement and ownership they arrogantly expressed this year makes this one easy to snicker at. They had a heck of a season and Big East championships are certainly nice, but this is a major faceplant.

We were at the Marco Lokar/Louie's 500th win debacle at MSG in early 1991. I had to separate my wife (a first grade teacher and NOT a Hall grad) from a loudmouth St. John's fan who made several disparaging comments about Marco. Felt he was "unAmerican and should not be taking a roster spot from true Americans." Of course a few years later, the St. John's hypocrites welcomed Italian and very overrated Marco Baldi to their team. It is my dad's alma mater, but since that afternoon, if they never won another game, I'd be fine.

I was torn who to root for in this game. Always push for Big East but tough with St. John’s and their dirty water money. However seeing how Slick Rick blew it and to try to defend himself in the press conference was priceless.
