Vikings drafted McCarthy and were allowing there to be an actual competition for the QB1 job. Fair enough if you want to say Darmold was a starter, but he was not a cemented number 1 and before he got hurt, McCarthy was seriously challenging for the job. Jones has never had to compete for the job with the Giants.

I get it. You are sold on Schoen and Daboll and I am not. I don't trust Schoen to rebuild. He clearly has little feel for locker room chemistry issues and cannot feel good about the post game last night with Eagles fans chanting Thank You Giants. Mara keeps reliving his nightmare each week.

I just want the Giants to have meaningful football after Halloween next year.

Here's a crazy stat I just saw. Giants have a -6 turnover ratio & their secondary has 0 interceptions. They only have 1 int. through 10 games & that was by a LB. Jones hasn't been good but to pin this dismal season all on him is absurd.

What an indictment of Schoen that the new starter is Tommy Cutlets. Drew Lock couldn't even beat him out for the job now that they are sitting Jones. This GM gives me no confidence at all. Why pay Lock $5M if he can't even come in and start in place of Jones (unless they are trying to tank the rest of the games)?

I think you have Lock just in case the team did well and then DJ got hurt near an important game or during an important game. Obviously, that isn't going to happen. At this point Tommy is more appealing as far as lending a storyline to the remaining games. Lock is kind of bland. Tough spot on how to compensate the backup and that I agree with you on.

This is the exact reason the Giants are a failed organization. If Tracy doesn't fumble & the Giants beat the Panthers in OT do you really think they'd still be making this change. It's a reaction to try & placate the fans, now that the season is spent & they lost to one of the worst teams in the league.

Jones should have been benched for Devito weeks ago. We all know what he is now & his confidence is shot under Dabol. He very well could be a serviceable QB for the right organization (similar to Darnold) but his time in NY is done.

I think Dabol & Schoen are both cooked and out. A new GM is going to want his own coach unless they decide to hire from within... which would be even more of a disaster but not a surprise.

You have NO IDEA what you’re talking about. They’re starting Devito because they’re interested in seeing if he can be a backup next year. Drew Lock is here on a 1 year deal and will not be back no matter what. If the Giants were 8-2 and Jones got hurt. Lock would 100% starting in Sunday. But yeah it’s Schoens fault says the uninformed fan!!!

Yes the giants were making this change regardless of the panthers result. It’s all about an injury guarantee in Daniel Jones contract that they are making sure doesn’t kick in and screw them next year.
