BOWLING GREEN, FLA. - The Seton Hall men's golf team will return to tournament action for three rounds of golf at the 2021 BIG EAST Championship at Streamsong Resort, April 26-28.
Tournament Details:
2021 BIG EAST CHAMPIONSHIP
Host: BIG EAST Conference
Location: Bowling Green, Fla.
Course: Streamsong Resort (Blue Course)
Course Vitals: Par-72, 7,276 yards
Dates: April 26-28, 2021
CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT:
It's a nine-team, 54-hole, stroke play Championship. Teams compete in groups of three. The event is conducted over four days with each team's five members playing a practice round of 18 holes on day one and one 18-hole round on days two, three and four.
THE RESORT:
Streamsong sits among the greatest golf destinations in the world with 3 top 100 courses and the highest-rated golf collection in all of Florida. Streamsong offers a golf experience like no other, in a setting that's like nothing you've ever seen. Thanks to seamless integration of indigenous and awe-inspiring terrain, Streamsong's three spectacular courses stretch across a landscape that belies their Central Florida locale. Instead of flatland, you'll find towering sand dunes and unexpected contours, without a distraction or intrusion insight. It's just you, your friends, and the game you love. The way golf was meant to be.
THE COURSE:
With its multiple elevation changes, fairways navigating wild grasses and deep-water ponds and huge bunkers that roll off of towering sand dunes, Streamsong Blue seems designed by discovery rather than by intention. Created by Renaissance Golf Design's renowned architect Tom Doak–who already has four designs ranked among the top 100 in the world–Streamsong Blue is equally destined for greatness. Streamsong Blue features spectacular terrain, with rises and falls in elevation, and contours that undulate offering some of the most stimulating holes in golf.
THE FIELD:
For the BIG EAST Championship, the field is limited to only the 10 men's golf teams of the conference. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 protocols, St. John's was forced to pull out of the Championship leaving only nine competing teams. This includes (in order of Golfstat ranking): Marquette (98), Connecticut (143), Creighton (186), Butler (199), Seton Hall (200), DePaul (217), Xavier (221), Villanova (229) and Georgetown (248).
