not a party unless that party is aligned with their lifestyle. makes sense an independent could take hold. that generation is very loyal to people or brands that represent them, fully grown up on internet/social media where their interests/beliefs are put on show. should be interesting. All the data I’ve seen indicates that Millennials and GenZ in general have no allegiance or affinity to either party. Bernie, who is an independent, is proof of that.
Not sure I agree about mid term. Youth vote now is about hate for Trump; nothing to do with Dem platform. Not necessarily about allegiance, but not really a coincidence that dems has their largest mid term win ever with the highest mid term youth turnout.
Not incurable going forward but if younger voters remain engaged, republicans are going to need to make some changes to attract more of those voters. Though, it might not be so easy to keep Trump’s base and broaden youth support at the same time.
yea but trump = republican and in a 2 party system (realistically) anti republican = democrat. Not sure I agree about mid term. Youth vote now is about hate for Trump; nothing to do with Dem platform.
Right now it is. Trump loses next week, and face of the party could become Tim Scott and Nikki Haley. Doesn’t mean that youth one flock to them either, but it does change the dynamics.yea but trump = republican and in a 2 party system (realistically) anti republican = democrat.
anti trump = dem
thats the situation
What happened to bobby jindal?Right now it is. Trump loses next week, and face of the party could become Tim Scott and Nikki Haley. Doesn’t mean that youth one flock to them either, but it does change the dynamics.
Checks and balances, the only one party railroad system is the republicans for making the scotus 6-3 conservative...there will not be an extreme far left cleasing happeningSince we tend to follow follow Western European trends I predict in about 20 years we will have 4 parties and our economy will be much closer to socialism than capitalism. This could be accelerated if as projected Biden wins and vacates office during first term giving Harris opportunity to go far left.Despite top marginal rates of 90% plus the amount of Federal income tax has been between 18 -21 % of GDP in the last 60 years so the whole tax system will have to be changed to increase this percentage.

Ed is inferring biden age, healthy, mortality may not allow to complete a full termwho is projecting biden to vacate office?
ah ok. well "projected" is a pretty liberal term. i wonder what @Vegas pj sees for the odds he wont finish a term.Ed is inferring biden age, healthy, mortality may not allow to complete a full term

The Supreme Court is not a partisan institution. Elections have consequences.
Well the people on the court get nominated based on partisan preference. You dont see Trump seeking the most liberal ruling circuit court judge nor would you see Clinton/Obama seeking most conservative judge. The Supreme Court is not a partisan institution. Elections have consequences.
Millenials and GenZ do not think healthcare is a major issue. They barely consume it and most are covered under their parents policy. I would also question if immigration was high on their radar.Yeah, Trump was a big part of it but their views on the most important issues to them are generally are much closer to the dem platform right now.
If they stay active politically, republicans will need to start to shift on some key issues. Not that they need to adopt liberal policies, but a more moderate approach towards things like the environment, immigration, healthcare, etc..
But now next judge wont be until breyer or Thomas get gravely ill doubt either would retire.Unfortunately, with no filibuster and only 51 votes needed to move a justice through the Senate and get confirmed to the Supreme Court, both parties will be incentivized to nominate ever more reliably liberal or conservative judges when their party controls both the Presidency and the Senate.

2 of the 8 and soon to be 3 of the 9 will be trump appointed and lowest vote totals since clarence Thomas alito got b 58 to 42 nay kagan and rest atleast 63 yay
It's pretty naive to think that Biden won't expand the court in the first year or two of his term.
I don’t think he will, nor does he want to. Thus a panel to study the courts. Besides, if he added judges in search of a one vote ideological majority, what‘s to stop the Republicans from doing the same next time they control the Presidency snd the Senate. Do we want a court with 13 judges, 15, 17? The more there are, the less accountability and it just becomes a miniature House of Representatives. It's pretty naive to think that Biden won't expand the court in the first year or two of his term.
it is pandering to the base right now who are apoplectic about ACB being approved. This would not be a good political move for Biden if he wins.I don’t think he will, nor does he want to.
