Restaurants were one of the biggest offenders in taking advantage of inflation over the last few years. They have tacked on a considerable amount more than their costs have risen by, and that doesn't even include the credit card fees almost all of them are passing along now. "Checkout adjustments," lol. Some Italian places are charging upwards of $20 for basic pasta dishes. It's absurd. Not going to feel bad for most of them when the crowds stop coming.
Over the mid term, a deflationary bust should be the bigger concern. It won't happen until the unemployment rate rises, but I think that's coming. Much greater risk to the economy from the downside (deflation) over the next 12-18 months than the upside (inflation).
Respectfully disagree. Restaurant business is brutal and I think wage increases have had the greatest impact. Some restaurants flourished during COVID (pizza shops or strong take out models). Others never recovered. Many are family run businesses which is the backbone of the economy. Restaurant customers are going to shop with their feet. Restaurants that gouge or are overpriced are not sustainable. Customers either won’t go or choose to eat at a different place.
Who knows where it’s going, but the fundamentals of the economy remain generally strong.
Problem is, all of them are gouging now. Consumers have nowhere to turn if they want to go out to eat.
I disagree, the fundamentals have been weakening over the last 12 months. I think a recession is more likely than not within the next 12 months.
I don’t get that. There’s hundreds of choices for a consumer. Or they could choose to eat at home. No one is putting a gun to their head to walk into a specific restaurant that overcharges.
We’ll just have to see.

Signal should not be used for classified communication and a journalist accidentally being added to a group chat about actual plans for bombings in wild.

Nor to care that people are being disappeared to foreign countries without due process. Or judges' legal orders are being blatantly violated. Or we're escalating trade wars and war war rhetoric with our closest allies while tongue-bathing authoritarian regimes. Or indiscriminately mass firing government staff and being forced to rehire them. Canceling untold amounts of important research. Wholesale turning every sensitive system and data set they can to a handful of imported ai doge freaks and the richest person on the planet who hasn't met a conspiracy theory he won't promote and is into nazi stuff. ****ing with social security. Weaponizing the department justice against political rivals. Executive orders targeting private law firms that worked on cases about your crimes. Or countless other grievous harms, violations, and humiliations.
I need to take my own advice and remember there's no point in enumerating what I already have and definitely not any more I could. Because none of it matters to the stalwart American patriots who could not care even the slightest teensy tiny bit about the daily anti-American actions executed by this administration of maniacs and fools.

Fire Hegseth and Walz, but I don’t remember the same calls for those in charge of a withdrawal from Afghanistan or assassination attempt on the President where innocent people were killed.
I can sit here and be critical and disagree with decisions the Trump administration has made. And I can also be objective and agree with some of the actions and results. This is the beginning of liberation day. Let’s be honest, despite some of the one off issues, addressing the border crisis has been an unmitigated success just on EO’s alone.

Well, first off, Signal is not supposed to be used for sharing classified information.

Waltz added the reporter. Likely by accident, but there’s not a better option there. Hacked? That’s worse. Someone else had access to his device where they were sharing classified information? That’s worse.
Thirdly, you understood the risk better when it was Hillary.
I didn’t say they were without fault. By everyone’s account, they should not been using SIGNAL.
From what we know it was Waltz’s “distribution” list on SIGNAL which he would have been the one to add the name. Did he add it or did an aide do it? It’s a bad mistake. I do find it odd, that of all the people to add, that it was a reporter from the Atlantic that has been critical of Trump. Did he ask an aide for a list of the cell numbers of Hegseth’s or Gabbard’s (or anyone else in the group) and they substituted Goldberg’s for one? Granted, I don’t know how SIGNAL works but I’m assuming you need a phone number.
Sure, and Hillary wasn’t even using an encrypted platform like SIGNAL. Since you are calling for Hegseth and Waltz to be fired, were you doing the same for Hillary?

Using signal to share classified information is bad. Giving your aid access to that information is also bad.

Now for comparisons sake, Hillary’s server was encrypted, and she never sent anything like that conversation which would have been clearly top secret at the time. She did receive classified information which she did not follow the rules on how to treat the information when received. Some was classified after the fact. Nothing quite like bombings that will be occurring momentarily…
The FBI could not prove intent with Hillary because she was not as careless as anyone in that group chat was. Everyone in that group chat would have known that information was classified at the time they were discussing it. Intent to break the rules on classified information sharing is WAY more obvious than with Hillary.
Hegseth should be fired for the blatant disregard of sharing top secret information on a platform that was not secure.
Waltz should be fired for adding a journalist to a group chat where they were discussing classified information or allowing his aid access to the platform for the gigantic **** up.
Also, the administrations response to this is absurd. Admit the mistake and move on at a minimum. The deflections are pathetic.

But we don’t know if he gave his aid access. Isn’t that what an investigation while determine? Like I said earlier, he could’ve just asked an aide for a list of phone numbers without divulging what they were going to be used for. And maybe that aide added Goldbergs number to the list as a joke or because they had an ax to grind. It still doesn’t excuse them for using signal, but you have to think a little critically of how of all people are reporters’s number gets on that kind of a list.
Signal is encrypted as well from what I understand. And how do you know what messages Hillary was or wasn’t sending?

Technically, the information is classified. But the information shared was just about the time of the go ahead and the use of F-16s and drones. There were no locations, coordinates or any details to know where and how the attacks were going to take place.
All the left has right now is to demand the firing of cabinet members. You know it’s not going to happen or should it until we know the details. Trump is doing as usual wise-ass responses in front of the camera which pisses off the left even more with the Gulf of America map right behind him. and judging by this thread, it obviously is working.
Waltz has responsibility, Rubio publicly stated it was a bad mistake. And the mission was a complete success. But the MSM and Dems will keep pounding on this issue just like they did with the Access Hollywood tapes.
