I’m in Charleston and it’s ****ing HOT! However, I will be flying home in a big comfortable seat. But it’s commercial so that should count for something. I’ll also use a reusable water bottle to limit plastic. But I will probably buy a snack so that plastic will end up in someone’s bloodstream. How much do I need to donate not to feel guilty?
A lot of people in the thread are blind to human induced climate change. Look it how many thunderstorms we have had this summer so far too.
I'm just talking about the impact of human induced climate change...we will see more thunderstorms, more severe hurricanes, and more wild fires/air quality alerts. This is just the preview.
I’m positive humans contribute to climate change. I’m also resolved to the fact this is the society we chose. So for the limited time I have on this planet, I’ll try to minimize my harm while also maximizing my happiness. And no, rampant consumerism does not make me happy. But flying to San Diego to watch Seton Hall will. I’ll carbon offset that flight somehow.
And that’s all anyone should be doing really. If you believe this issue is real, you should do your part, but it’s not going to be solved by individual decisions. It has to come from government policy.
