Veer Singh

You have to understand that coaches rarely allow vistitors to practice. So Jerry and I can only post what we see with the proviso that is only one viewing. Difficult to be accurate under those circumstance although I respectfully offer Jerry and I are correct far more than we are wrong.

Last season for instance I noted that Bediako played very well when I saw him and EHE struggled. I watched that practice after being told EHE was the better player. He was not and Bediako became a find.

Same with Gil when I saw him in his sitout year. Absolutely loved him.

Remember Q? Watched him once and said he would be our starting PG and was far better than his rating.

Then there is the Veer situation. I thought the Pirates had a major find, but I was wrong.

Watching a player once is no guarantee to correctly profile said player. But Jerry and I do our best to inform our readers.

Kadary earning his money

Maybe Sha did a great job coaching him, but he never got the praise from Sha that Pitino just gave him. Must be nice to finally be paid a compliment. Somehow somebody will find a reason to say that Sha’s trashing Kadary to the media is the reason that Kadary has hit his peak this year. 🙄
Other than Sha saying he thought he could have the best backcourt in the country last year? And he said it at the beginning of the season.

When Sha correctly supported Dawes last year when those on this board were calling for Dawes to be benched and a lesser role, many here blasted Sha.

In the practice that I saw Veer was the best player on the court. He hit nearly every 3 he took and Whitehead was looking for him most every time down the court.

Then in the preseason exhibition Veer was 6-7 from the arc missing one where he took a bomb to beat the shot clock. He deserved to start early and did.

But once the lights went on he froze and offered very little in the next year and a half before quitting.
How many times have we seen/had Jerry tell us how great someone is in practice? Year in year out we hear similar things.

He started 1 game, against Rutgers, 7 games in, which ended up bringing Desi and Khadeen off the bench for the game. His stats in the first 6 games were not jumping off the page so I can only assume this was the yearly "Desi in Willard's doghouse" game.

Veer fooled a lot of people, me included. He reminds me of a guy on our roster this year. Very good skill set for a tall guy but it just doesn't translate in games.

DEI not ok...but this is...what a joke

Like to know who on this board you are saying believes all women hires or promotions are DEI.One of my best bosses was a woman managing director before I became a managing director in a major investment bank. You seem to have disease that a lot of liberal democrats have of moral superiority so anyone who disagrees with you has extreme right wing positions which anyone at all fair knows is ridiculous Niw you know you can’t name me please provide names of a few posters who think all women promotions are DEI

impossible odds is right. If the current standings hold, and there are no upsets other than SHU games here is the path:

Villanova 9:30pm Wednesday
Marquette 9:00pm Thursday
Creighton 9:00pm Friday (looks like the Friday games are an hour later than they've always been)
St Johns 6:30pm Saturday

All 4 of whom seem to be playing a different sport than whatever SHU is currently doing a couple times a week.
You assume none of those teams can lose.

Kadary earning his money

Hey, there we are! Good ol’ finishing school preparing pieces for good teams. Samuel, Davis, and Richmond were all impact players on their new teams. Yay us! 🙄

Enough is Enough: The Leadership Failures at Seton Hall

When Onward started, I said wouldnt it be great if we could get a thousand Guardians. That is a million a year. 20 people from each of the last 50 classes... or one sixth of he season ticket holders.

The response I got was Seton75 has lost his mind.

Fundraising is a 2 way street. Someone asks and someone says yes. And even if they ask poorly or rarely, if you care, you can write a check. Maybe the school sucks. That doesnt mean we might not suck too.
This. And if you are truly invested in the University, that is exactly not the time to withdraw whatever charitable and/or season ticket money you lay out.

Seton Hall All-Time vs. Butler: 14-11

NOTES YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • The Seton Hall men's basketball team returns to Prudential Center on Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. contest against Butler on FS1.
  • The Pirates will look to avenge a five-point loss to the Bulldogs at Hinkle Fieldhouse back on 1/15/25.
  • Seton Hall was down three starters by the end of Sunday's loss at DePaul as Scotty Middleton, Dylan Addae-Wusu and Chaunce Jenkins have all missed time with injuries.
  • Middleton, who's averaging 25.5 minutes per game in league play, went down with an ankle injury in the first half against the Blue Demons and did not return.
  • The Pirates were also without Addae-Wusu (ankle) and Jenkins (knee), the latter of which missed his fourth straight game, giving The Hall just nine active scholarship players.
  • Isaiah Coleman has come into his own in conference play where he trails only Villanova's Eric Dixon and Creighton's Ryan Kalkbrenner in scoring averaging 18.5 points per game against BIG EAST foes.
  • Coleman returned to form in the loss at DePaul where he scored a game-high 18 points with four rebounds and three steals.
  • Coleman also ranks 12th in the conference averaging 5.8 rebounds per game and 10th shooting 78 percent from the line against BIG EAST foes.
  • Coleman is one of only four Pirates since 1988 to score at least 15 points in the first five BIG EAST games of the season joining Mark Bryant (1987-88), Terry Dehere (1992-93) and Myles Powell (2019-20).
  • Coleman has scored in double-figures in 12 of his last 14 games and five of those outputs were 20-point performances against BIG EAST teams.
  • Prince Aligbe tied his career highs with 19 points in 33 minutes in the loss against Providence on 1/28.
  • Aligbe has registered nine double-figure scoring games this season after arriving at The Hall with just 12 double-figure scoring games in two seasons at Boston College.
  • Aligbe has scored in double-digits in six of Seton Hall's last eight games.
  • Seton Hall's recent struggles have not been helped by a rash of injuries to its backcourt with Chaunce Jenkins missing the last four games with a knee injury.
  • After a bounce back performance at Butler with 21 points and four assists, Jenkins suffered an injury in the second half against St. John's and has not played since.
  • The Pirates are 4-2 on the season when Chaunce Jenkins is their leading scorer.
  • Dylan Addae-Wusu has missed four of the last six games dealing with foot and ankle injuries.
  • Addae-Wusu, who scored 13 points and tallied four steals against Providence on 1/28, is the Pirates' second-leading scorer in BIG EAST play (12.3 ppg) and leads the team in assists (3.0 apg).
  • Addae-Wusu went over 400 career assists on against the Friars and he now has 1,000 career points, 400 assists and 200 steals.
  • Addae-Wusu trails only Creighton's Ryan Kalkbrenner for the most career BIG EAST games played among active players with 85.
  • After struggling from the free throw line through the first month of the season, Seton Hall has bounced back since the start of conference play shooting 73 percent (172-of-236) from the stripe.
  • Stepping up in a time of need in the Seton Hall backcourt, Garwey Dual has shown signs of improvement over the last four games where he has averaged 8.6 points,4.0 assists and 3.2 steals in 32.2 minutes per game.
  • Seton Hall ranks third in the BIG EAST in bench scoring averaging 22.2 points per game.
  • According to KenPom, the Pirates rank 11th in Div. I in bench minutes (42.2 pct.)
  • The Pirates rank second in the BIG EAST in league play averaging 12.0 offensive rebounds per game.
