25% of Americans will not take COVID Vaccine

Thank you for the feedback. This is why I am telling people that are saying they are excited about going to the rock in the winter to hold that excitement. Unfortunately, I think this will be another season without fans. The virus will continue to mutate and people just don't realize that. We will be living with this virus for years and restrictions will continue to take place.
While I agree Delta variant is going to be a problem, most vaccinated folks will be ok. And yes it will continue to mutate and it will be with us going forward.

There will be people at the rock this season but masks and other mitigation efforts will probably be involved.

Its just funny because people on this board including @Merge were saying we should not be concerned with the variants at all because of the vaccination rates in the United States.

Not what I said. We should be concerned with variants, and that concern should lead to higher vaccination rates.

In my opinion, we've done what we can and if you choose not to get vaccinated, you accept the risk that comes along with that.

So you think there will be mask wearing and capacity limits at the rock? I'm interested to see what you say because you told me we will not be wearing masks at the rock this coming November

Also you told me to find a new schtick. No I will not find a new "schtick". With the Delta variant threatening the united states this pandemic is far from over. Its not over in the United States.

@Merge 10% case uptick in the US over the last week. Officials at a national level are now warning of a new covid wave in this country. I thought you said this was over?

@Merge It appears the media is preparing us for a return to indoor mask mandates in NJ. I thought you said this wouldn't happen? We will be wearing masks again indoors by Labor Day. You will also be losing our bet too.

Wow, is the bet between @Merge and @shufan1993 still undecided?

Correct it still is. @Merge kept on telling me this will be over and I should find a new schtick. Its not over with Delta in play. The media is now preparing us for another round of restrictions. The bet is on the state of the pandemic by labor day.

And Murphy and anyone in the teachers Union supporting masks in school come fall should be thrown in jail.

There is zero need for any further restrictions. Those who want the vaccine have had a chance to take it and are protected. Those who don't want it assume the risk. No hospitals are overwhelmed and they won't be.

Needless hysteria from the government and media to keep the charade, fear and control going. Real people know it's over.

Merge getting played like a fiddle. Who would trust a man who reneges on a bet and says he's going to "retire" from this board twice, yet continues to post afterwards?

I didn’t think he would honor the bet. Just wanted to show how confident I was in my opinion.

You downplayed this whole pandemic. 1600 children covid deaths in Brazil. Shame on you.

You are a very selfish person. Can't imagine the pain those families are going through.

Badge of honor coming from a kook like you. Maybe you'll stay inside for the rest of your life and troll internet message boards. At least people on the streets won't have to deal with your nonsense.

Looks like you don't have anything better to do either. At least you showed your colors the last couple posts. Good luck!

I don’t know about jail.... but I agree with the sentiment.

Yeah let’s jail folks for protecting others…🤪

One size fits all approach is often not the best way to go. I hope some businesses and schools keep the mask mandate in place.. Not all but some.

Under 12? Elementary school students don’t have access to vaccines. I think K-5th grade should keep it until winter break so see how things are.

I can see maybe in middle schools, high schools, colleges (especially those that already mandated vaccines), letting go of mask mandate altogether. Also teachers/staff at elementary schools should be good to go without a mask.

Most medical facilities will certainly be keeping it too.

I'm not oblivious to the risk as minimal as it is. But many studies and opinions have been expressed by respected non-partisan individuals and groups speculating that we've hurt our young ones more with the mask mandate than the risk posed if they were unmasked and unvaccinated. Especially elementary schools, where kids learn through interaction, facial cues, facial recognition/expression and the like, more than whatever is on the smartboard, paper or screen in front of them. If anything, I'd be more inclined to have masks with the older ones. For the little ones, hell no. Last year was "lost" for so many kids with this stuff. With teachers able to be vaccinated, no more excuses. If a parent wants their kid remote, we now know that is an option (although a pretty bad one for the young kids).

I am continually amazed how some people STILL think like this a full 16 months into this fiasco. It's over. Enough. You had your fun getting off on controlling other people, now it's time to get back to normal.

Who cares if kids have the vaccine or not? They're not at risk and they certainly don't need to wear a mask!

I wouldn’t mandate masks in any location. If a parent wants their child to have a mask, have at it….. If you want to walk around with a mask for the rest of life, be my guest. There is absolutely no reason for a mandate anywhere.

Ok now that you and the teachers are vaccinated, let the elementary kids go wild. Yes there is an excuse, kids can’t be vaccinated.

I’m sorry but my kids don’t mind wearing masks and if there was any learning drop off last year it was because of virtual school not when they were in class with masks.

I’d rather have kids in school with masks than remote for sure. I have 3 kids under 12, I’ve lived the lows of the last year and half, virtual school, outbreaks in schools with on and off shutdowns. I just dealt with in my youngest’s daycare there was a kid that was covid positive, we had no child care for 2 weeks so we had to take off from work, this was in June.

So you can mandate for your kids to wear masks. But don’t ask others to.

Dude, you think the entire pandemic was made up. No one should be listening to you.

LOL! Not made up, just blown completely out of proportion. If you're under 50, you have little to worry about (unless you're obese). Was it "made up" by the Chinese as a bioweapons attack test run type of thing? Maybe, that's worth investigating. But the virus is real no matter what. Unfortunately the reaction in supposedly "free" societies has been disappointing, frightening and downright awful.

Of course, you make up stuff and let the personal insults fly when you can't effectively counter anything I'm saying. Par for the course for a covid alarmist.

Serious question for you: When does this stuff end and we live with no restrictions and just treat it like the flu or any other virus? You (and many others, you're certainly not alone :) ) seem to be enjoying all of this and how your way of thinking and living is controlling other people who just want to go about their lives. Do you want it to end? When does it end?

There shouldn’t be on or off shutdowns anymore, either. If a kid in a class has it, he’s out. Others remain. If half a class gets the flu - that’s happened with my kids before - those with it stay home and those without are in school.

Before this post, my District just emailed us that masks will no longer be required for kids in school for anyone in schools during the summer (various programs are run inside in the HS). Parents have the option to send their kid as they want.

Cuz the 5 year old doesn’t pick his note after touching a desk LOL
it was child abuse and teachers Union loved it

@Merge You are deflecting on my point about the rock. You told me a couple months ago we will maskless with no capacity limits at the rock this November. Fast forward with Delta and future variants in play. Do you still believe this?
