As many of you who regularly visit CNN.com know, on occasion throughout the pandemic, I have talked about the United States as if it were my patient.
Dr Sanjay Gupta to America on its "2nd Pandemic birthday" He says America is still healing but America still needs to reach the finish line. As I have told this board before as long as there are states with low vaccination rates the virus will always be here. And Dr Gupta agrees with that. Dr Sanjay is now saying since America still has pockets of low vaccination rates in the south it it always possible there can be a strain of the virus that the vaccines won't be effective against. Dr Gupta is also interested to see where America will be next year at its "3rd pandemic birthday"
Hello. I warned this board a couple months ago of the looming variant threat. CNN is now saying president Biden's celebration on eradicating covid 19 is too soon. It has been reported the Delta variant is now like wildfire in California. Governor Newsom is expected to announce new restrictions/ shut downs in the next couple weeks

It IS political though because the vast majority of those not getting it identify as Republican. Clearly the messaging they've been receiving from Republican politicians, social media and "news" (I use that term lightly) is causing their hesitancy.
The latest example being the illiterate Majorie Taylor Greene yet again comparing the vaccine to the holocaust.
Eventually if half the world decides vaccines aren't safe we will get a variant that proves to make the vaccines useless, and well be back to square one. What a shame.

The only political statements and agendas are being made and are held by those who are trying to coerce others into getting it. Speaking from personal experience, corona is low on my list of concerns. I don't want the vaccine. I just want to be left alone, live my life the way I see fit and wish that others would simply mind their own business. My concerns are the culture of this country spiraling out of control and the long term prospects for our economy.
I don't think all the black and hispanic people who don't want it are Republicans.....
Remember when they told you the only concern was not overwhelming hospital systems? Yet here we are 16 months later with no end in sight despite incredibly low numbers across the country. The scaremongering with the variants is a pathetic attempt to keep it on the front pages. When viruses mutate they mutate into WEAKER, more contagious forms, not stronger forms.
This will only end when the citizens (and then the media and politicians) stop caring. My fear is this was all by design and it's playing out exactly as they wanted. It was never about a virus. It was about a fundamental reshaping of society.

Same here. Thinking for yourself is an increasingly rare attribute in a person these days. Most are mindless sheep driven by CNN, FOX, Twitter, TikTok or some Instagram influencer.
IMO, social media and technology has ripped apart the fabric of what made America great. It's almost to the point where I think we might be in the beginning of the end stages of America. Depressing to think about.
