25% of Americans will not take COVID Vaccine

Masks have 20% efficiency at best.
20% efficiency? Love to hear where you got that number and what that means to you. Are you talking protecting individuals wearing mask or reducing the spread overall.

If you are talking protection from an individual wearing a mask I’ll go with 20-60% protection as well but that is not what I’m talking about. It about the synergistic result at reducing spread. Anti maskers just don’t get it for some reason. You protect me by wearing a mask more than I protect myself by wearing a mask especially cloth masks not always on right.

I am eager to see your answer to this question. Will you wear a mask for upcoming flu seasons?
Yes, I wear masks in indoor public places (like the majority of people in my community) and yes I will be wearing a mask for upcoming flu season as well.

So now you are the arbiter of truth about Covid? Pretty high opinion of yourself, no?
At least I do not pretend to be in public health.

You are worse for public health than the antivaxers and antimaskers. You have been spreading misinformation the beginning of covid.

Lol… When you fall off that high horse, it’s going to hurt bad.

You can say the same thing about the flu. All of your statements would be answered the same way. Are you suggesting going forward we should wear masks during flu season?
Yes, you should use strategies to reduce spread of flu as well. Get seasonal flu shot and with covid still around as well, we should wear masks in indoor public places this winter.

So if we didn’t have Covid, you would recommend wearing masks in public. Correct?

I just realized how much you and 93 have in common. You’re always right! It’s simply amazing. I’m so blessed to be in your presence. Can you please share some more life guiidnce?
Isn’t it funny that there are certain people that feel the need to be the smartest people in the room and also need to tell you that they are as well?

It's not my job to protect you from anything unless I'm a police officer or similar profession. Your health is your responsibility, as is mine.

I agree that some people don’t take care of themselves and should be doing so.

I’m at a very low risk myself with age and in great shape but I still do the small things to help out others namely get vaccinated and wear masks in public indoor places and try to stamp out misinformation when I hear it (mostly in the message boards).

Maybe more people should stop complaining and help out the community.
It’s not like it’s a draft where you are being sent to war, just get the pinch and wear a soft piece of fabric from time to time.
I’m sorry after 70 years of making the country unhealthy I don’t trust the government’s advice of put this in you to make you healthy. Ever look at a picture of the people in the crowds the Apollo launches or Woodstock? How many obese people do you see? It’s insane the change in this country’s health and the government had a ton to do with it from the bad food pyramid to the additives and preservatives to make shelf life longer. Notice they're all for limiting what people who don't take the vaccine can do. Are they going to limit a 350lb man from buying a piece of cake? Are we really trying to keep people healthy or not?

People want to protect themselves- get vaccinated.

Fat people do like cake. Haha.

The idea that the government can’t control what fat men eat isnt a very good argument to not trust the advice that most experts agree is the way to go.

The gov has helped with health with a few initiatives, reducing soda in some schools, lowering smoking bans tax’s and education.

They do try a bit with better diets (there is new food pyramid guideline released almost every year no one follows).

Could they do more, of course, it is not a reason not to trust them about vaccines and masks.

We have folks crying about a 1-3 time shot and a cloth mask. Imagine we tell them what to eat and put in there bodies everyday, how unamerican would the gov be then 🤦🏼

You're missing the point. The point is about personal freedoms and personal responsibility. I really don't care if you eat a Big Mac and fries every day, or vaccinate or wear a mask. And you shouldn't care if I do either. And depending on those decisions that you make, that should dictate what you pay and how you use it.

"Trust" is an interesting word. Government enacts laws that often have more have to do with politics than objective information. We have agencies (like the FDA) which are probably the best of any industrialized nations. Does that mean they are right all the time and I should "trust" everything they say or do? Nothing wrong with taking in all types of information, processing it and making your own decisions. (rather than come across like a know-it-all and tell people what you believe is the truth).

Who says it's only going to be a 1-3 time shot?

I think you missed my main point and ran with a little side note. The experts for years have been making decisions that have led to us being unhealthy with poor immune systems. Simple example. Go to your nearest beach and bring a photo of people at woodstock along with a photo of people at the Apollo mission launches. Notice the size of the people at the beach and in the pictures. What has the government done to make this situation better. Ever since Eisenhower had heart issues, they've gotten involved and I'm not sure it got any better. There's a new pyramid every year because they find what they told you the year before ended up being wrong. But I should trust them on the shot.

I love how every topic @SHUHoopsFan comments on always goes back to the food pyramid. Entertaining and strange to say the least.

What some unhealthy fat person eats has 0 effect on my family's safety whereas a transmissible virus that's killed 600,000 Americans has a clear effect.

Well yeah when the vaccinated fat guy gets covid because his immune system is weak and then is around your family.....it will have 0 effect on them. SMH

But you’ve been vaccinated, so what are you worried about?

False, cause unvaccinated fat guy keeps spreading it to other unvaccinated fat people and variants develop that can evade vaccines. This isnt hard.

But you’ve been vaccinated, so what are you worried about?

Variants. I'm personally not worried about my health, I'll be fine. I'm worried about the people that got vaccinated who won't be if variants evade the vaccines.

Not if you're vaccinated (which I assume you are).

You realize there are 330 million people in America, right? Your chances of dying from covid (as a 27-32 year old person) are very, very low. Have you actually looked at the statistics regarding deaths and serious illness broken down by age? You may be surprised and end up changing your opinion.

Keep ignoring the fact that that vaccinated people are getting it too. Everything is caused by the unvaccinated. They are the whole problem. LOL

Again, I'm not concerned about myself. I'm concerned about people that A) for vaccinated but would be susceptible to variants like those over 70 and B) people that cannot get vaccinated do to health issues.

Those are not good enough reasons to completely revamp society and change the way we live.

Those people over 70 have had the option to get vaccinated, and most of them did. The vast majority will be fine. The people who can't get vaccinated is an incredibly small number of the population. Those folks should be taking precautions and assessing their own risks as they see fit.

I know theres no changing your view. You're all about yourself, everyone else be damned.

Seriously, so when you've lost the argument, it's now that everyone else is selfish. Really?

No argument was lost. I believe people should get vaccinated so we can get past this pandemic. He, you, the others here dont. Nobody won any argument. I sleep well at night with my stance.

Hes made it clear hes about himself and it's not his job to worry about anyone else.

Yea, I'm nuts. The horror in helping others. Again, you're all about yourself. It's not your job to help society. That's your stance, own it.
So someone who is anti vaccine is anti helping society. Maybe you know more than I think, but maybe 09 volunteers, does charity work, makes donations to great causes, etc. But because he's anti this vaccine he's a scumbag. Impressive analysis all from not taking a vaccine.
