25% of Americans will not take COVID Vaccine

And then many of the kids and families get together, indoors, on those same weekends to socialize, like most anyone else would. Without masks.

And then our kids are back in school on Monday with them.

This has been going on in my town since the spring, if not before for some.
Yes sir.
But we need masks!
How about that weekend socialization involving more than 3 teachers, 3 districts?

Minority expert opinions taken out of context. All have been largely debunked by expert consensus.

Seems like you are the political one here using a bit of this and a bit of that to fit your narrative and go against the expert consensus.

It's genuinely sad to see so many fellow Americans and members of the Seton Hall community switch off their brains and literally inject who knows what into their own bodies because Reuters and big tech companies "debunked" (Ie snuffed out) legitimate scientific debate.

As opposed to those who switch off their brains because Jesus will protect them from Covid?

You might be a religious man, but don’t confuse that as being enlightened while everyone else is brain dead.

When did I discuss religion in the context of the vaccine debate? The entire debate was centered on science.

If I were to discuss principles (and I didn't), it would have been about the right of the state to coerce such an intimate and high risk intrusion into human bodies.

Isn’t this a pro/choice line? “Right of the state to coerce such an intimate and high intrusion into our human bodies”

We got ourselves a religious pro-choice person here, your not hypocritical at all🙄

I guess you didn’t like how all the other vaccines helped yourself directly or society at large. Specificity with covid 19 vaccines, do you not believe they lowered death and hospitalizations?

Did you fight it when you lived in areas when the local gov put fluoride in city and town municipal water?

At least we need some consistency from these “I’m smarter than 80% of adults (and most experts) take.”

I didn’t say you did, but their are plenty of people with that stance. And some would argue that’s a brain dead response, while others say that is faith and justifiable.

You are not so above others. It’s a choice to vaccinate or not and up to each to decide. Those that don’t agree with you aren’t brain dead.

Thank you for reading my mind, ascertaining where I place myself and then amending where I should place myself instead.

As a matter of fact, I am no fan of fluoride in drinking water, RoundUp/pesticides and the hundreds of food additives that are legal in the US but not the EU.

I am careful with what I put in my body and that includes untested and unproven (note the qualifiers) vaccines.

Again, why not stick to the individual facts of the specific discussion (after you clamored for citations) rather than keep tangentially moving the debate elsewhere?

Less tooth decay, more autism, dementia, alzheimers...where do I sign up? You may be in favor of that, I'm not. There's nothing wrong with having different opinions. I'll take the gamble of drinking bottled water and using non flouride toothpaste. You may think it's worth the gamble to not remember anyone. Nothing wrong with that.

I purposely allowed you and others to egg me on for a couple days to make a point: none of you have any real understanding of science (neither do I). My original post had enough information to dig out the names above and their public statements. You clearly weren't interested in scientific fact finding as much as political debate.

Well, no... I was not interested in doing any research last week given that I was away on vacation.

The reality is that you are merely parroting what you read in the mainstream media. You then parrot the narrative that the science concerning vaccines and testing is a settled consensus.

Sorry, not sure why you think you're not doing that. You're just finding the people you want to agree with. I don't see evidence of you searching for the truth. What I see is someone searching for the answer they want to see.

On Robert Malone, He was out just recently saying (on Steve Bannon's show nonetheless) that the Pfizer vaccine was not fully approved by the FDA. That is just entirely false. It is fully approved for anyone 16+ but it is still under EUA for ages 12-15. Why are you so ready to trust someone so willing to blatantly lie to you?

Your comments on the PCR results from Kary Mullis are theoretical, but that doesn't really make much sense when you also look at studies on seroprevalence which show a large amount of the population was infected.

Then you go on to talk about another "expert" who says that the mortality rate is 0.05%? So you think that cases are overstated which would make the mortality rate higher, and the same time thinking that the mortality rate is insignificant? And clearly 0.05% is just absolute nonsense. 650,000 / 0.05% means that 1.3 BILLION Americans were infected? I think I see a problem there... lol.

There is no evidence that the variants are coming from those were vaccinated.

You also cited people who claim hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin we're effective in treating Covid. There is just no evidence yet that is correct. I am not opposed to either if they are proven to work.

If you want some interesting background on ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, watch this clip.

The entire show is worth listening to, but I linked the part where they talk about those two specific drugs.

On Christian Perronne, he says "Vaccinated people are at risk for the new variants. In transmission, it has now been shown in several countries that vaccinated people should be quarantined and isolated from society. Unvaccinated people are not dangerous; vaccinated people are dangerous to others. That has been proven in Israel now, where I am in contact with many doctors. Now they are having big problems in Israel: severe cases in hospitals are among those vaccinated."

Again, that is something that is just absolutely not correct. Are vaccinated hospitalized with Covid? Of course. Do the vaccines protect people from sever disease? Absolutely.
Here is data from Israel showing how effective the vaccines are at preventing severe disease.

So if this post was by merge someone like knees would respond microphone drop or some dumb shit like that

there are no mic drops with these things

Odd post. Just use the search function and see who has ever posted "mic drop" here.
Don't think he ever posted the phrase, nor have I.

Maybe he didn't have the appropriate phrase, I don't know but the point was general. What kind of loser actually cares enough to spend time to search another persons posts? Kinda creepy.

lol, how long do you think it takes to search something here? It took about 10 seconds.
Was curious as there is one person here who I recall posting that phrase frequently, though they have a similar political view as Hallsome.

There are a few posters he could have used as his example for people who have actually used that phrase here, but goes with a poster that hasn't?

His post said mic drop or some dumb sh*t like that. He wasn’t specific that was exact phrase. Quite possibly he didn’t care enough to spend 10 seconds to do what i will call message board opposition research on stupid similar comments like all the cool kids are doing these days.

@Merge

Let's simplify the arguments:

You: the science on COVID vaccines are settled and the risks are low. People who oppose mandatory vaccination are being unreasonable

Me: the science on COVID vaccines are far from settled and the risks remain quite uncertain. Opposition to mandatory vaccination is therefore quite reasonable.

It's really that simple. There is no need for long form responses.

I would flag with you that the very fact that there can be a legitimate debate on the topic affirms the latter position.

all of your claims have never been proven with the low levels of fluoride municipals, towns and cities put into tap water all across the country.

you do you but spreading false info doesn't help anyone. The good thing about the issue of fluoride (compared to vaccines) is you and those like you with your misinformed thought processes with Austin Powers teeth don't affect others as much as the vaccine misinformation out there, which does.

You didn't just say the science isn't settled though. You started this with "The reality is that arguments for vaccination that are most effective aren't science based. They're emotion based" and you talked about it being agenda driven.

Well, I disagree with that position very much. The arguments for the vaccine are science based.
The science says they are very effective at preventing severe disease and death.

Are there side effects? Yes. Though always less than the virus itself. The probability of infection used to be more of a debate when it wasn't as clear that Covid was juts going to work its way through the entire population, but it looks like that is the more realistic outcome at this point.

I'm much less concerned about the short term side effects of the virus and vaccine than I am about the long term effects of both.

Got ya. It only took decades for science to prove that lead paint was bad or asbestos wasn’t healthy. All of that was misinformation at the time. As they were coming up with research that was all misinformation. Heck why not just put cholesterol medication in the water too.

That is true. I just don't personally get the long term risks being a part of the decision not to get vaccinated as we just don't know the long term effects of either.

If it were not as contagious as it is, I think that the long term effects being a part of the decision making would be reasonable. Now it just seems more and more like Covid will work its way through the entire population at some point and if that is the case, people should understand that the long term effects are unknown for both but the short term impacts show the vaccine is the better option in every category from side effects to outcomes.

I think it's pretty simple. If an individual thinks that they are at a very low risk of having any serious short term effects if they test positive, than the unknown risks long term have a greater risk. We know that the vaccine does not prevent you from getting the disease, so even if you were vaccinated, you will still have the long term risks of the disease to consider.

I'm not likely as old as you but I think it was more that nobody was looking at affects of asbestos than people pushing misinformation like so many do these days (including yourself).

You wrote that fluoride causes dementia or autism which is false till proven otherwise.

75 years of testing the safety of small amounts of fluoride in drinking water...

Fair point. Vaccines don’t eliminate the risk of infection, so it’s possible that there could be long term effects from both. Still an unknown about what that means though.

I’m fine if people choose not to get vaccinated. Herd immunity through vaccination doesn’t appear to be possible anymore, and it will probably work it’s way through everyone eventually.

It will take years for the virus to through everyone. So you now admit this pandemic will still last year's?

Good point...another point (herd immunity at 70%), which is proving to be false. The science continues to change (which does happen). A good example as to why you shouldn’t take recommendations as absolutes.

I'm glad to hear your position on mandatory vaccination.

The other part of your post (which is far less important if vaccinations are voluntary) I don't agree with...the point is that vaccination programs have historically been approved after a long period of very careful assessment.

That hasn't happened in the case of the Covid vaccines. I'm not professionally unfamiliar with some of the players involved in vaccine development. The mRNA technology is outrageously radical and unproven. Its adoption is very much driven by emotions (fear of the virus, fatigue with lockdowns, fear of losing jobs etc) rather than with responsible science or medical processes.

And, yes, proper debate on the mRNA technology in particular has absolutely been stifled. When Robert Malone himself is sounding alarms and he is literally having his career history wiped out in retributive fashion, the likely culprit is some kind of agenda. Is it big pharma (Moderna has minted 5 billionaires already)? Is it governments keen to restore social confidence? Is it something more sinister ("Great Reset")? That is harder to say.

Sad situation, but he appears to have a major comorbidity. We need to emphasize most effective ways to avoid hospitalization. Pray for his recovery.

Yep. Hope he gets well but another picture of an obese person suffering from this disease will do little to move public opinion.

What are your thoughts on the adenovirus vaccine from Johnson & Johnson?

The point is that vaccination programs have historically been approved after a long period of very careful assessment.

While true, you also need to have a little foresight that will not always be the case.

Imagine the next version of a pandemic in 10 years that kills 5% of those it infects... Are we going to put everything we have at getting a vaccine out to the public as quickly as possible while still ensuring it meets safety requirements? As much as you would like to have long term analysis, that is just not always going to be possible. Though we do now have 18 months of real world data from the first people who participated in the trials.

The fact is that a part of the speed here was that we are just much more advanced now. We had the entire genome sequenced and shard across the world within days. That took months with previous outbreaks and were able to code a vaccine for that virus within days after that. A remarkable scientific achievement really.

. The mRNA technology is outrageously radical and unproven. Its adoption is very much driven by emotions (fear of the virus, fatigue with lockdowns, fear of losing jobs etc) rather than with responsible science or medical processes.

Like it or not, mRNA will likely play a fairly large role in medicine for many years to come. It's been researched for decades and was literally designed to be able to respond to an outbreak of an infectious disease very rapidly. Would I have preferred that the first time we really use an mRNA product to be on more than half the country? Honestly no... but at the same time, I wouldn't sideline what could be a revolutionary enhancement in medicine over fear when the trials are showing it is more effective and just as safe as traditional vaccines.

And, yes, proper debate on the mRNA technology in particular has absolutely been stifled. When Robert Malone himself is sounding alarms and he is literally having his career history wiped out in retributive fashion, the likely culprit is some kind of agenda.

The culprit is himself. He seems mad he isn't getting enough credit for his role in developing mRNA technology, and has been making claims which are just outright lies. If he stuck to the science and didn't push the lies, I would find his arguments more compelling, but given his willingness to go on someone like Steve Bannon's show and lie to that audience discredits him quite a bit from my view.
