It's easier to be picky when you've had some success. When you're trying to win, sometimes you take risks you wouldn't ordinarily take and hope for the best.

There is a little bit of a reality check for a few. Hot shots come in and find out that they still have to earn it (or not) and vets get recruited over. Recruitment is a tricky thing. There is a difficult balance among talent, alphas, role players, personalities, outside interests (including fans), NIL and egos. It is amazing when a group comes together as a team for each other and performs well on the court. Humility should be one of the traits a recruiter values.
Interesting to see who Shaheen's first commitment will be. Hope we see it soon.
