Face Coverings now REQUIRED outdoors in NJ

Yep, it is stupid. Indoors makes sense. Outdoors does not.
Should be a recommendation and not a requirement.

Remember, it is about control and changing behavior. Not about health.

When you accept that, everything that is going on makes sense and you can connect the dots to the agenda of those in power.

By the way, shufan1993, I have taken you off ignore. There are a handful of posters who are quite bad who I haven't ignored. I don't necessarily agree with or like the way you go about posting here, but you have made some interesting points.

I can't stand Murphy but it appears (not confirmed) that the law says where social distancing cannot occur. So if I take a walk in my neighborhood or walk around the yard or go to the beach and can distance myself, I'm not wearing a mask. When I go to the store or doctor or a restaurant I will always wear a mask.

Yep its common sense. I just don't like it being an executive order.

Political games....

Time to end this scam. I bet they count "cases" as any positive test, even multiple from the same person.

On Sunday, in day 2 of the July 4 Men's Tourney, on number 11, Par 5, I bladed my 54 degree wedge and put my third in the stream instead of on the green. I threw the club down hard and said a dirty word. The club broke in two.

Today, I tried out some Vokey and Cleveland wedges now that I am fully versed on bounce and grind options.

The pro wore a mask during the session as did I. During that time I thought of Shufan1993 and knew he would be proud of me. I almost cried.

Yeah, he should have been clear about that!

Wait... He was VERY clear about that.

Yes he has said in past they aren’t all from the last time he had a press conference, but most would assume they are recent deaths (several days old at most), not deaths that can be weeks or months old. The daily death number is worthless then, should just give total number deceased.

Plus most people don’t watch daily press conferences so we can only go by what the Main Street media reports.

But you realize there is a smoothing effect that goes on over time though. If 200 people die today but we have only confirmed 50 were from Covid and he reports 50 then he is understating tomorrow. It works itself out.

He is not intentionally misleading anything there.

I agree that was true at the height of the deaths in April, but it would be good to know how many people in NJ died in last week or two, or even the last month to see how the state is progressing.

If some of these deaths announced today are from March as the tweet stated that is really not working itself out. A few extra deaths when we had hundreds of deaths a day makes sense, but to show 53 new deaths when new cases and hospitalization are way down is misleading/confusing to the public.

I don’t think NJ is intentionally misleading the public, but think would be helpful to release true new deaths that happened in last week and announce old catch reporting once a week or something.

I see what you’re saying, but if people who need or want to follow this every day should be looking at averages. 1 day can always be an outlier and there has also always been a lag for what is happening over a weekend. Looking at a 7 day average for example shows a more accurate picture for trend analysis.

I was just commenting that the Governor wasn’t trying to mislead anyone and was very forthright about the data in his conference.

This isn't always a perfect science and states change the way they define and report cases. Remember on 06/25/20, NJ suddenly recorded an extra 1,850 deaths due to a change in their definition.

I agree should be looking at averages, so how can you have an accurate 7 day average if many or in today’s case most deaths are older than 7 days. Plus with lower death numbers even a 10 outliers per day is going to misrepresent your 7 day average.

Right, but they are also clear about what that number represented and keep reporting them as presumptive. If someone died with all of the symptoms of Covid during the pandemic but was not tested, should they be included somehow or ignored?

I don't think NJ is acting in bad faith. I think they are trying to present an accurate picture of what happened.

Like I said it smooths out over time. I don't think it matters much. Watching the trend of a day average will have some bumps on the line but if you are watching that number for 30,60 or 90 days, those bumps won't mean much.

You can probably write to the state and ask that they provide the daily Covid deaths by date on the death certificate if it is something that you can convince them would be helpful for the public. Maybe they will be receptive to it.

Why because now you see how right I have been right about this pandemic? I remember on this board how people were telling me how great of a job Florida, Texas, and Georgia were doing combatting the virus a couple months ago. I kept on telling people just give it time!

We will be going back in full lockdown in NJ in September.

No, it's not because of that. I believe in open dialogue even if I disagree.

Ok. So Florida, Texas, Georgia, and California are doing a great job?

As weird as your corona obsession is, you seem to be pretty level headed on everything else. I hope you are doing well in this depressing time.

That's why I took him off ignore. His other postings (from what I've seen in posts) are actually pretty stable.

Utterly ridiculous viewpoint. Laughable, actually.

It is utterly laughable that you are this blind. If NYC was so concerned with health would they be promoting protests to continue while EVERYTHING ELSE is canceled?

You need to think outside your comfort zone and open your mind. When you do, it makes sense.

Kind of insulting to insinuate that you have thought this through from another angle which makes you see something others don’t.

I see your take. I don’t agree with it.

I'm insulting but saying my view is "utterly ridiculous" and "laughable" isn't? Haha, you're a funny guy!

I have thought this through from every angle. I look at the news. I look at the facts. I don't make decisions based on pure emotion. Everything I do is based in fact.

That’s not true though. You believe the virus has to work it’s way through each state. That isn’t true. There is no science behind that, and there is science and data which refutes it but you continue to believe it. You’re free to your opinion, but that one was not grounded in facts at all.

Under 100k deaths was your acceptable threshold of deaths based on the facts not too long ago. We will be more than double that and you still don’t think we should be mandating masks indoors which is our only defense right now.

Saying this is all about control is an entirely emotional argument. There are no facts to back that up other than you not agreeing with the steps taken. That’s fine. You can have that opinion, and people are fine to believe that opinion is ridiculous.

If I ever actually DID want to stay in my comfort zone I wouldn't spend time reading some of the ridiculous posts on this board.

Here's something we can agree on: looking forward to the start of college basketball.
